Our story is not the story of any ordinary way to create an innovative loudspeaker.

Behind JERN® is our company Dansk Skalform. Dansk Skalform is actually a casting company. Traditionally, we have always made an unlimited number of differing components predominantly for the car and machine business sectors.

The company was founded in 1975 by the diploma engineer Holger Dissing and today it is run by the descendants, Søren and Peter Dissing. One day, the owner of Dansk Skalform, Søren Dissing, stopped and thought to himself: What would happen if a loudspeaker was moulded out of one solid piece of iron? That is the thing: curiosity has always driven this Danish company from day one. And that has led the business to grow and expand through the years. What happened next was that Søren Dissing and his team of engineers started working on a prototype for a loudspeaker. The main criterion was that every single piece should be of the finest quality. As we say in Danish, nowhere did the team jump the fence at the lowest point in the making of JERN14.

All of a sudden, the team were standing with a prototype for a new and revolutionary compact speaker and could only wonder how they had come to create such a raw and refined piece of work, showcasing such clean sounds accompanied by the beautifully organic shaped design.

The actual making of the loudspeaker at a casting company has added a brand new raw factor and authenticity to the world of sound.
