Little Fwend Low Mk2 + P8/P10Mount for Rega
The package combines a Low Mk2 automatic tonearm lifter with Little Fwend's P8/P10Mount, developed for the Rega Planar 8, Planar 10 and Naia. The lifter raises the stylus when the arm reaches the run-out area, while the custom mount supports it in the circular opening between the platter and tonearm base.
A Mount Designed for the Skeletal Plinth
A conventional Little Fwend installation needs a suitable mounting surface beneath the arm. On these Rega designs, the opening in the brace sits where that platform is needed. The P8/P10Mount addresses this by providing a shaped, friction-fit support for the lifter, allowing the Low model to be positioned in the required area.
Two Components Working Together
Low Mk2 Tonearm Lifter
The mechanical lifter provides automatic end-of-side operation, adjustable height and an adjustable trigger position. Its body attaches magnetically to the mounting platform.
P8/P10Mount Platform
The custom aluminium platform fits the compatible Rega brace opening. Its recessed edge follows the curve of the platter to establish the intended orientation.
Automatic Lift Without an Extra Power Supply
As the arm moves into the run-out area, it meets the trigger antenna and releases the lifting mechanism. The stylus is raised clear of the record, helping avoid unnecessary time circling the locked groove. Operation is entirely mechanical, so there are no batteries, mains connections or additional electronics in the audio signal path. Your existing cartridge and phono-stage connections stay as they are.
Manual Arm Return and Motor Switch-Off
Little Fwend lifts the arm at the end of a side. You still return it to its rest and switch off the turntable yourself. Reset the trigger antenna before playing each side so the lifter is ready to operate again.
Friction-Fit Platform and Magnetic Attachment
The mounting platform fits into the circular opening with its recessed section facing the platter. Aligning that recess with the platter's curve establishes the platform position. The Low Mk2 then attaches magnetically above it. The lifter can be removed for height adjustment, while rotating its body changes where the trigger meets the arm.
Use the Dedicated Rega Mounting Instructions
Follow the Low + P8/P10 mounting guide. Set the height with the platform installed and a record in place, then test from the end of the final track. Check that the arm is clear of the lifting beam during playback and that lifting starts after the music finishes.
Rega Turntable Compatibility
The manufacturer identifies the Planar 8, Planar 10 and Naia for this mounting arrangement. Its compatibility guide also lists the earlier RP8 and RP10 with the Low lifter and P8/P10Mount. Confirm your exact model, particularly where the tonearm, cartridge, mat or platter has been changed.
Little Fwend also describes the mount as suitable for other Rega models from P3 upwards with the corresponding 44mm brace opening. Check the exact generation and mounting arrangement with Audio T before choosing it for another deck; a standard Low installation may already be appropriate.
Materials Chosen for Each Component
The Low Mk2 lifter uses solid stainless steel with a glass-blasted finish. Its parts are precision machined in Switzerland, with design, hand assembly and individual tuning carried out by Lasse and Jeremy in Oslo, Norway. The separate P8/P10Mount uses 2014-T6 aluminium and neoprene components to form its dedicated support platform.
