Audio T Verdict
The Eversolo T10 is a reference-quality streaming transport designed for listeners who already own, or intend to use, a separate digital-to-analogue converter.
Rather than incorporating its own DAC and analogue output stage, the T10 concentrates on music streaming, library management, precision clocking, electrical isolation and the clean transmission of digital audio to an external DAC.
An OCXO clock system, PLL optimisation, isolated digital outputs and compatibility with external 10MHz and 25MHz master clocks give it considerably greater upgrade potential than a conventional all-in-one streamer. USB Audio and IIS support compatible native DSD512 and PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz, while optical, coaxial and AES/EBU outputs provide broad compatibility with existing digital systems.
The 8.6-inch touchscreen, Roon Ready support, extensive streaming-service integration, dual internal SSD slots, 2.5Gb Ethernet, SFP fibre networking, Wi-Fi 6 and evotune Pro room correction make the T10 unusually capable as both a high-performance source and a large music-library controller.
It is not the right choice for someone seeking a simple one-box streamer with analogue outputs. However, within a revealing system built around a high-quality external DAC, the T10 offers an exceptionally comprehensive and carefully engineered digital front end.
Eversolo T10 Reference Streaming Transport
The Eversolo T10 is a dedicated network music transport developed for high-performance digital Hi-Fi systems.
It brings together online music streaming, local library management, internal SSD storage, USB storage, network playback, room correction and a comprehensive selection of digital outputs. The T10 then passes the digital signal to a suitable external DAC for conversion into analogue audio.
This separation allows the transport, DAC and amplification stages to be selected and upgraded independently, making the T10 particularly attractive for systems where source quality, clocking, isolation and long-term flexibility are important.
An External DAC Is Required
The Eversolo T10 does not contain an internal digital-to-analogue converter and has no RCA or XLR analogue audio outputs.
It must be connected to a suitable external DAC, amplifier with a compatible digital input, digital pre-amplifier or another compatible digital audio component.
The connected DAC must then feed an integrated amplifier, pre-amplifier, power amplifier, active loudspeakers or headphone amplifier as appropriate.
- No internal DAC
- No RCA or XLR analogue outputs
- No speaker-level power amplification
- No headphone output
- No built-in phono stage
- No built-in CD mechanism
A Purpose-Built Digital Source
Many music streamers combine streaming software, digital conversion, volume control and analogue outputs within one enclosure.
The T10 takes a more specialised approach. Its internal architecture is focused on processing, managing and transmitting digital audio before conversion takes place in a separate component.
This makes it suitable for owners of high-quality standalone DACs, digital amplifiers and active loudspeaker systems with compatible digital inputs. It also provides a clear upgrade path because the DAC can be changed without replacing the streaming platform or local music library.
OCXO Clock System and PLL Optimisation
Accurate timing is critical when digital audio is transferred between components.
The T10 uses an ultra-low phase-noise oven-controlled crystal oscillator, commonly known as an OCXO. The oscillator maintains a carefully regulated operating temperature to reduce frequency drift caused by environmental temperature changes.
This is partnered with PLL, or Phase-Locked Loop, technology to provide a stable clock signal throughout the digital output architecture.
The intention is to reduce timing uncertainty and provide the connected DAC with a more consistent digital signal, helping a suitably revealing system preserve imaging, low-level detail and musical timing.
External Master Clock Compatibility
The T10 can also be integrated into more advanced digital systems using a compatible external master clock.
Dedicated BNC clock connections support compatible 10MHz and 25MHz external clock signals with selectable 50-ohm and 75-ohm impedance standards.
This allows the T10 to synchronise with compatible DACs, digital interfaces and master-clock systems where a shared reference clock is required.
Check Clock Compatibility Before Connection
External clock frequency, impedance and cable requirements must match the connected equipment.
A clock connection should not be made simply because both products have BNC sockets. Confirm the frequency, impedance and operating requirements of the transport, clock and DAC before use.
Custom Linear Power Supply
The T10 uses a custom O-type toroidal linear transformer designed to provide clean and stable power to its processing, networking and digital audio circuits.
The transformer uses a tightly controlled magnetic circuit intended to reduce stray magnetic flux and minimise interference with nearby signal paths.
Separate internal sections and regulation stages help prevent processing, storage, networking and display activity from unnecessarily affecting the critical digital audio circuitry.
Physical Separation and Electrical Isolation
The internal chassis is divided into dedicated functional areas for the power supply, processing hardware and precision digital audio circuits.
Electrical isolation is used across important signal interfaces to reduce noise, interference and unwanted interaction between connected network equipment, storage devices and the external DAC.
The display section is also physically partitioned and shielded to reduce the possibility of its control and graphics circuitry coupling interference into the audio section.
Comprehensive Digital Outputs
The T10 provides several digital output formats, allowing it to work with a broad range of DACs and digital audio systems.
Isolated USB Audio Output
The isolated USB Audio output supports compatible native DSD512 and stereo PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz when connected to a suitable UAC-compliant DAC.
USB is likely to be the preferred connection for many modern high-resolution DACs because it supports the T10's highest published PCM and DSD playback rates.
Isolated IIS Digital Output
The IIS output supports compatible native DSD512 and stereo PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz.
Eight selectable IIS pin configurations are provided to improve compatibility with different DAC manufacturers and connection standards.
The IIS Socket Is Not a Conventional HDMI Connection
The IIS output uses an HDMI-style connector, but it is not an HDMI ARC television input or a conventional HDMI audio and video connection.
Only connect it to a compatible DAC with a matching IIS input and selectable pin configuration. Confirm compatibility before purchasing an HDMI cable for this purpose.
AES/EBU Output
The balanced AES/EBU digital output supports compatible stereo PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD64 through DoP.
AES/EBU can provide a robust connection to compatible professional and higher-performance domestic DACs, particularly over longer cable runs.
Coaxial Digital Output
The RCA coaxial output supports compatible stereo PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD64 through DoP.
It provides straightforward compatibility with many conventional standalone DACs, digital amplifiers and active loudspeaker systems.
Optical Digital Output
The optical output supports compatible stereo PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD64 through DoP.
Optical transmission provides electrical separation between components, although the maximum reliable sample rate can depend on the connected equipment and optical cable.
Independent PCM Upsampling
The T10 supports system-wide PCM upsampling using Eversolo's evosample processing system.
Upsampling can be configured independently for USB Audio, IIS and SPDIF output routes, allowing settings to be matched to the capabilities of the connected DAC.
USB and IIS can support higher output rates, while optical, coaxial and AES/EBU must remain within the limitations of those interfaces.
Upsampling Is a System-Matching Option
A higher sample-rate figure does not automatically guarantee better sound.
Results will depend on the connected DAC, its internal digital filtering and the original recording. Compare native and upsampled playback during a demonstration rather than assuming that the highest setting will always be preferable.
8.6-Inch Colour Touchscreen
The large 8.6-inch LCD touchscreen provides direct access to music libraries, streaming services, playlists, playback controls, output settings and system configuration.
Album artwork, track information, file format and sample rate can be displayed during playback.
The larger screen also makes the T10 easier to operate directly than many conventional streamers, reducing reliance on a phone or tablet when the product is positioned within reach.
Playback Displays and Visualisation
A selection of playback screens allows the front-panel appearance to be personalised.
Display choices include album artwork, track information, VU meters, spectrum displays and ambient animated scenes. Screen behaviour and brightness can be adjusted for daytime, evening or display-free listening.
Eversolo Control App
The Eversolo Control app provides access to music selection, queue management, streaming services, library browsing, output configuration, room correction and system settings from a compatible phone or tablet.
Compatible Android, iPhone and iPad devices are supported, with additional control options available through suitable television and web interfaces.
Web Control and Boundless Display
The T10 can be controlled from a supported web browser on a computer or tablet connected to the same local network.
Boundless Display provides a full-screen playback view designed for larger computer monitors and displays, allowing album artwork and track information to become part of the listening environment.
Available features may depend on the current firmware and browser.
Supplied Remote Control
A handheld remote control is included for everyday playback and navigation.
Remote operation complements the touchscreen, app and web-control options, providing convenient access when a phone or tablet is not nearby.
64-Bit Octa-Core Processing Platform
A 64-bit octa-core processor is partnered with 8GB of system memory and 64GB of internal eMMC storage.
This processing platform is designed to keep the interface responsive while scanning large libraries, retrieving artwork, running digital signal processing and moving between streaming applications.
The internal system storage is used by the operating system, applications, metadata and cached information. It should not be confused with the optional SSD music-storage capacity.
Integrated Music Streaming Services
The Eversolo platform provides direct access to a wide selection of compatible subscription and internet-radio services.
Current integrations include services such as:
- TIDAL
- Qobuz
- Amazon Music
- Apple Music
- HIGHRESAUDIO
- Presto Music
- IDAGIO
- Deezer
- SoundCloud
- TuneIn
- Radio Paradise
- Calm Radio
- Internet radio
Service availability, functions and maximum playback quality can vary according to region, subscription, recording, service provider and firmware version.
Spotify, TIDAL and Qobuz Connect
Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect allow music to be selected through each service's own application while the T10 receives the audio stream directly over the network.
This provides a familiar browsing experience for users who prefer the native service application rather than navigating through the Eversolo interface.
Roon Ready
Roon Ready certification allows the T10 to operate as a recognised network endpoint within a compatible Roon system.
Roon combines compatible local music and supported streaming services into a unified library with detailed metadata, recommendations, signal-path information and multiroom control.
A separate Roon Server, suitable network and appropriate Roon subscription are required.
Local Music-Library Management
Music stored on internal SSDs, USB drives, network shares and compatible servers can be indexed into the Eversolo music library.
Compatible metadata allows albums to be organised by artist, album, composer, genre, format and other categories.
Global search, favourites, playlists, cross-platform queues and full-library shuffle functions make it easier to manage a collection spread across local files and supported online services.
Dual Internal M.2 NVMe SSD Slots
Two internal M.2 NVMe 3.0 2280 slots allow compatible solid-state drives to be installed for local music storage.
The T10 supports up to 16TB of total internal SSD storage, providing enough capacity for a very substantial lossless and high-resolution music library.
SSDs Are Not Included
Compatible M.2 NVMe SSDs must be purchased separately.
Check the physical size, capacity, heat requirements, formatting and current Eversolo compatibility guidance before installation.
USB Storage and Accessories
Two USB 3.0 host connections support compatible external hard drives, solid-state drives, memory sticks and accessories.
Music on a USB drive can be played directly or indexed into the Eversolo library.
Larger USB drives and optical mechanisms may require their own power supply if their power demand exceeds the available USB output.
External USB CD Playback and Ripping
A compatible external USB optical drive can be connected for CD playback and music ripping.
The T10 can retrieve compatible album artwork, track information and metadata, while ripped music can be saved to an installed SSD or another suitable storage device.
No CD Drive Is Built In
The T10 does not contain an internal CD mechanism.
A separately purchased compatible USB optical drive is required for CD playback or ripping. Drive compatibility and metadata results can vary.
NAS and Network Music
The T10 can access compatible network-attached storage drives, computers and music servers using protocols including SMB, NFS, UPnP and WebDAV.
Network permissions, folder sharing, usernames and passwords must be configured correctly before a music library can be scanned.
2.5Gb Ethernet
The RJ45 network connection supports 10, 100, 1000 and 2500Mbps Ethernet.
The higher-speed connection is particularly useful when scanning, copying or re-indexing very large local and network music libraries.
A wired connection will normally provide the greatest stability in systems with large libraries, high-resolution streaming or congested wireless networks.
SFP Fibre Network Connection
An SFP network interface allows the T10 to connect through a compatible fibre network module.
Fibre can provide electrical isolation between the T10 and network equipment, helping prevent network-related electrical noise from travelling along a conventional copper Ethernet connection.
The SFP Module Is Not Included
A compatible SFP module and suitable fibre cable must be purchased separately.
Module type, fibre standard, wavelength and compatibility must match the network switch or media converter at the opposite end of the connection.
Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6
Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 provides compatible 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless network connectivity.
Wireless operation is useful where a wired connection is impractical, although Ethernet will normally remain preferable for very large libraries and systems where maximum network stability is required.
evotune Pro Room Correction
The T10 includes Eversolo's evotune Pro room-correction system.
Measurements can be used to create an acoustic model of the listening environment and generate correction profiles intended to improve bass control and reduce the effect of room-related frequency-response peaks.
Correction takes place within the T10's digital processing platform before the signal is passed to the external DAC.
Room Correction Does Not Replace Good Setup
Digital correction cannot fully compensate for unsuitable loudspeakers, extreme acoustic problems or poor speaker placement.
Finalise the speaker and listening positions before carrying out measurements, then compare corrected and uncorrected playback.
Equalisation and Digital Processing
Graphic and parametric equalisation provide detailed control over tonal balance.
Settings can be used to refine a system, compensate for particular recordings or help manage an uneven listening environment.
EQ, room correction and upsampling can be disabled when an unprocessed digital output is preferred.
Trigger Control
A trigger output can be used to switch compatible DACs, amplifiers or other suitable components on and off with the T10.
Trigger voltage and operating requirements should be confirmed before connection.
