The Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 is an unusually complete digital source, bringing a network streamer, high-resolution DAC, digital pre-amplifier, local music server and extensive digital connectivity together in one compact aluminium component.
Its dual ESS ES9038Q2M DACs, fully balanced audio architecture, low-noise linear power supply and variable XLR and RCA outputs make it suitable for use with an existing integrated amplifier, power amplifier or pair of active loudspeakers.
The large 6-inch touchscreen and Eversolo Control app make browsing streaming services and large music libraries considerably more intuitive than on many conventional Hi-Fi streamers, while the internal M.2 NVMe slot provides a clean route to storing a substantial local collection.
HDMI ARC, room correction, digital inputs and extensive digital outputs give the Gen 2 considerable system flexibility. It does not contain a power amplifier, headphone socket, phono stage or conventional analogue input, but as a digital source and control centre it offers an exceptional amount of functionality for the price.
Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 Music Streamer, DAC and Pre-Amplifier
The Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 is designed to sit at the centre of a modern digital Hi-Fi system.
It can stream music from online services, play files from network and cloud storage, hold a locally installed SSD music library, receive audio from a computer or television and convert digital sources through its dual internal DACs.
Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs allow it to feed an integrated amplifier, pre-amplifier, power amplifier or active loudspeaker system. Digital outputs also allow it to operate as a dedicated streaming transport with a compatible external DAC.
An Amplifier or Active Loudspeaker Is Required
The DMP-A6 Gen 2 does not contain a speaker-level power amplifier and cannot drive passive loudspeakers directly.
Connect it to an integrated amplifier, pre-amplifier and power amplifier combination, suitable power amplifier or active loudspeakers.
What Changed for the Gen 2?
The second-generation DMP-A6 retains the compact proportions and touchscreen interface of the original model while making several practical improvements.
A redesigned low-noise linear power supply replaces the earlier switching supply arrangement, while HDMI ARC allows compatible television sound to pass through the Eversolo's DAC and volume-control system.
A 12V trigger output can control compatible downstream equipment, and Wake-on-LAN allows the player to be activated through the network when the required settings and network equipment are in place.
Current software also adds features including room correction, Qobuz Connect and expanded playback and control options.
Full Aluminium Construction
The cabinet is machined from aluminium and designed to provide a rigid, well-shielded enclosure for the digital, analogue and power-supply sections.
Its 270mm width is narrower than a conventional full-width Hi-Fi component, making it easier to accommodate on a desk, compact equipment rack or shelf.
The front panel is dominated by the touchscreen, with a multifunction volume and control knob positioned alongside it for direct adjustment.
Six-Inch Colour Touchscreen
The 6-inch LCD touchscreen provides direct access to music libraries, streaming services, inputs, outputs, playlists and system settings.

Dual ESS ES9038Q2M DACs

Maximum Resolution Depends on the Connection
The headline 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512 figures apply to compatible local playback, USB audio and supported digital routes.
Optical, coaxial and HDMI ARC connections have lower maximum rates, and streaming-service quality depends on the service, subscription and source recording.
Low-Noise Linear Power Supply
The Gen 2 uses an upgraded linear power supply designed to provide clean and stable power to the audio circuitry.
Eversolo specifies a power-supply noise level below 40 microvolts, helping to reduce electrical interference within the sensitive DAC and analogue output stages.

Balanced XLR Output Performance
The balanced XLR outputs provide a maximum level of 5.2V.
Eversolo specifies a signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range above 128dB, with THD+N below 0.00009% and channel crosstalk better than 125dB.

RCA Output Performance
The unbalanced RCA outputs provide a maximum level of 2.6V.

Integrated Streaming Services
The Eversolo platform provides direct access to a wide range of compatible online music services.
Current services include TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Apple Music, HIGHRESAUDIO, Presto Music, IDAGIO, Deezer, SoundCloud, TuneIn, Radio Paradise, Calm Radio and internet radio services.
Service availability, features and maximum quality can vary according to region, subscription, firmware and the service provider.
Spotify, TIDAL and Qobuz Connect
Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect allow music to be selected through each service's own app while the audio stream is delivered directly to the Eversolo over the network.
Qobuz Connect supports compatible lossless and high-resolution playback up to 24-bit/192kHz.
Current Eversolo firmware also supports Spotify Connect Lossless at up to 24-bit/44.1kHz where the account, recording and Spotify service provide it.
Apple Music and the EOS Audio Engine
Apple Music is available through Eversolo's integrated application rather than relying solely on playback from a separate phone or tablet.
The Eversolo Original Sampling-rate Audio Engine, or EOS, is designed to bypass conventional Android sample-rate conversion and preserve the original sampling rate of compatible music applications.
Eversolo also provides AirPlay playback guidance for compatible devices and firmware, although current features should be checked where a particular Apple playback or multiroom function is essential.
Roon Ready
Roon Ready certification allows the DMP-A6 Gen 2 to operate as a recognised endpoint within a compatible Roon system.
Roon combines supported streaming services and locally stored music into a unified library with detailed metadata, recommendations and multiroom control.
A separate Roon Server and appropriate Roon subscription are required.
Local Music Library Management
Music from an internal SSD, USB storage, network share or compatible cloud service can be indexed into Eversolo's library interface.

Internal storage keeps the music library inside the player and avoids leaving a portable USB drive permanently connected.
The SSD Is Not Included
An M.2 NVMe SSD must be purchased separately and installed before internal music storage can be used.

USB Storage
Two USB 3.0 host connections allow compatible external hard drives, SSDs, memory sticks and other supported accessories to be connected.
Music on a USB drive can be played directly or added to the Eversolo music library.

Network and Cloud Storage

Room correction can help reduce the influence of frequency-response peaks caused by room dimensions, speaker placement and nearby boundaries.
Room Correction Does Not Replace Good Setup
Digital correction cannot compensate fully for unsuitable loudspeakers, extreme acoustic problems or poor speaker placement.
Position the speakers and listening seat carefully before carrying out measurements.
Graphic and Parametric EQ
The Eversolo platform provides multi-band graphic and parametric equalisation for detailed tonal adjustment.
Independent left and right channel adjustment can help compensate for an uneven room or an asymmetrical listening position.
Preset profiles are also available for users who prefer simpler adjustment.
Bluetooth 5.0 Input
Bluetooth 5.0 allows compatible phones, tablets and computers to play directly through the Eversolo.
