The newly developed projection lens uses 15 elements arranged across 11 groups within a large 80mm assembly.

Flexible Lens Shift and Installation
The 1.6-times zoom lens offers a 16:9 throw ratio of 1.34 to 2.14 and supports projected image sizes from approximately 60 to 200 inches.
Motorised lens shift provides up to ±70% vertical and ±28% horizontal adjustment, helping position the image correctly when the projector cannot sit directly in line with the centre of the screen.
Five user presets can store settings including lens control, masking, aspect ratio, screen adjustment and installation style.
Confirm the Throw Distance Before Installation
Screen width, aspect ratio and projector distance must be checked before mounting the projector or installing fixed cabling.
Lens shift improves placement flexibility, but it cannot compensate for every room layout or an unsuitable throw distance.
Gen2 Frame Adapt HDR
Frame Adapt HDR analyses HDR10 content scene by scene or frame by frame and automatically adjusts the tone mapping for projection.
This helps preserve bright highlights while maintaining detail in darker areas, rather than applying one fixed tone curve to an entire film.
HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG are supported, while mastering information including MaxCLL, MaxFALL and Display Mastering Luminance can be used during HDR processing.
Deep Black Tone Control
Deep Black Tone Control works alongside Frame Adapt HDR to give dark scenes greater depth and more convincing gradation.
Rather than simply crushing low-level information into black, the processing is designed to retain visible texture and detail within shadows.
This is especially valuable with films containing night scenes, dark interiors or strong contrasts between bright highlights and black backgrounds.
FILMMAKER MODE and Picture Adjustment
FILMMAKER MODE provides a convenient route to a picture designed to respect the creative intent of the original content.
Additional modes include Natural, Cinema, Vivid, Frame Adapt HDR, HDR10+ and HLG, alongside four user-adjustable memories.
A six-axis colour management system, adjustable gamma and ISF-certified calibration controls allow the picture to be refined for the screen and viewing environment.
JVC’s Auto Calibration function is also supported when the projector is used with compatible optional measurement equipment.
Two HDMI Inputs with 4K60 Support
Two HDMI inputs support data rates up to 32Gbps, HDCP 2.3 and signals up to 4096 × 2160 at 60 frames per second.
This is suitable for Ultra HD Blu-ray players, media streamers, AV receivers and games consoles operating at up to 4K60.
4K120 Signals Are Not Supported
The DLA-NZ500 accepts 4K signals at up to 60 frames per second. It does not provide 4K120 input for high-frame-rate console or PC gaming.
