The JVC DLA-NZ900 is a flagship home cinema projector built around three third-generation 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA imaging devices.
It combines a 3,300-lumen BLU-Escent laser light source, 150,000:1 native contrast, second-generation 8K/e-shiftX processing and a substantial 100mm motorised all-glass projection lens.
Two full-bandwidth HDMI inputs support signals up to 8K60 and 4K120, making the NZ900 suitable for reference-level film, sport and gaming systems.
A Complete Home Cinema System Is Required
The DLA-NZ900 is a dedicated projector and does not contain a television tuner, streaming platform or loudspeakers.

Native 4K with 8K/e-shiftX
The NZ900 uses three native 4096 × 2160 D-ILA devices to create the red, green and blue elements of the image.
JVC’s second-generation 8K/e-shiftX technology shifts each native pixel in four directions to create a displayed resolution of 8192 × 4320.
A dedicated scaling engine can apply the additional resolution to native 4K and lower-resolution material while also accepting genuine 8K input signals.

The imaging devices themselves have a native 4K resolution. The higher 8K display resolution is created through JVC’s proprietary e-shiftX technology.
3,300-Lumen BLU-Escent Laser

The lens provides a throw ratio of 1.35 to 2.75:1 and supports projected image sizes from approximately 60 to 300 inches.
Motorised lens shift offers up to ±100% vertical and ±43% horizontal adjustment.
Eight installation modes can store lens control, pixel adjustment, masking, anamorphic settings, screen adjustment, installation style, keystone and aspect ratio.

Gen2 Frame Adapt HDR
Gen2 Frame Adapt HDR analyses HDR10 content by scene or frame and adjusts the tone mapping to suit projection.
This helps retain bright highlights without making the rest of the picture excessively dark, while improved gamma processing produces smoother gradation.
Theater Optimizer can also consider screen size and gain when adjusting HDR playback for the installation.
HDR10+, HLG and Deep Black Tone Control
The NZ900 supports HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG material.
HDR10+ uses dynamic metadata supplied with compatible content, while Auto Tone Mapping can use mastering information such as MaxCLL and MaxFALL.
Deep Black Tone Control further refines darker areas, helping preserve shadow detail while giving night scenes and dark interiors greater perceived depth.
8K60 and 4K120 HDMI
Two 48Gbps HDMI inputs accept signals up to 7680 × 4320 at 60 frames per second and 4096 × 2160 at 120 frames per second.
Low Latency Mode and Auto Low Latency Mode make the projector better suited to high-frame-rate console and PC gaming.
Any AV receiver, processor, switcher and HDMI cable in the signal path must also support the required bandwidth and resolution.
Gaming Modes Affect Some Processing
Some picture-processing functions are unavailable while Auto Low Latency Mode is active. Choose between minimum delay and additional image processing according to the content.
