The Innuos LPS1 provides a clear and logical upgrade path for the STREAM1, replacing its supplied switch-mode power adapter with a substantial purpose-built linear supply.

At its heart is a 150VA toroidal transformer supported by medical-grade mains filtering and premium Mundorf and Nichicon capacitors. The aim is to provide the connected streamer with a cleaner, more stable and lower-noise electrical supply.

The STREAM1 already uses Innuos’s CX Regulator to provide an independent low-noise supply for its optional audio-output module. Feeding the wider system from the LPS1 allows that internal regulation to operate from a more substantial linear power source rather than the standard external switch-mode adapter.

During our own listening session with the STREAM1 and PerformanceDAC module, adding the LPS1 made the presentation sound more controlled and authoritative. Instruments gained greater texture and separation, while the music felt more energetic and involving rather than simply brighter or more detailed.

The second regulated output adds considerable practical value. It can be switched between 5V and 12V and can supply a compatible accessory drawing no more than 1.5A. Depending on its electrical requirements, this might include a DAC, network switch, router or another low-voltage component.

This does not make the LPS1 a universal power supply. The dedicated 19V connection is strictly for supported Innuos products, while the accessory output must match the destination product’s voltage, current requirement, polarity and connector.

Current confirmed Innuos compatibility includes the STREAM1 and NET1. The LPS1 is also backwards compatible with the ZENmini Mk3 and PULSEmini, providing owners of those discontinued products with a current linear power-supply upgrade.

The 150VA figure describes the transformer’s apparent-power capacity.

Medical-Grade Mains Filtering

Medical-grade AC filtering is applied at the LPS1 mains input.

Connection Sequence

  1. Shut down the STREAM1 or other supported Innuos product correctly.
  2. Switch off the connected accessory.
  3. Disconnect the LPS1 from the mains.
