The Sonus faber Sonetto V G2 is where the second-generation Sonetto range takes a substantial step forward. Sonetto III G2 is a clever 2.5-way floorstander, but Sonetto V G2 moves to a genuine three-way architecture with its own dedicated Camelia midrange, twin 6.5-inch woofers and D.A.D. Arrow Point tweeter. For voices and instruments in particular, that separation of duties gives Sonus faber much greater control over the most musically important part of the frequency range.

The Camelia driver is one of the big stories here. Originally developed for the flagship Suprema project, its five-cut diaphragm deliberately breaks the symmetry of a conventional circular cone, while its Organic Basket and aluminium phase plug further refine the way the driver behaves. Sonetto V G2 is substantial without becoming enormous. A True Three-Way Sonetto
