Sonus faber Lumina V Amator Speakers

LUMINA V AMATOR

Amator is an evocative name, which has characterized all the special Sonus faber models, becoming synonymous with uniqueness. Any market enthusiast knows that from this name it is right to expect an exciting and engaging listen. The new Lumina V Amator crossovers have been designed inheriting to the legacy left by the development of the new Homage collection. Many of the solutions adopted on the new special models are derived from those of the Amati G5 and Guarneri G5.

The IFF circuitry and the phase coherent philosophy ensure perfect rendering of the virtual sound stage in three dimensions. The new filters also offer greater resolution and more rigorous and coherent reproduction. Lumina V Amator is available in three new glossy finishes: red, wengé and walnut. A further stylish detail is the herringbone woodwork.

The Lumina collection by Sonus faber presents an exciting change, new to the typical Sonus faber product design portfolio but still able to embody the history and values of the brand. “Simplicity” is central to the collection’s identity that aims to reach a wide audience and to deliver a luxury music experience in all Sonus faber homes, which is facilitated through their longstanding tradition of refined materials and careful craftsmanship.

LUXURY, MINIMALIST, NATURAL

The simple and squared design of the Lumina models was chosen to emphasise the quality of materials used. This principal of minimalism directly captures the essence of the product, thoughtfully designed in conjunction with the theory that “less is more”. The Lumina collection boasts the core values of Sonus faber and the use of its iconic materials, including leather, natural composition of drivers, and real multilayer wood available in Walnut and Wenge wood with Maple inlay matte and Piano Black glossy finishes. All items pay tribute to out historic heritage and are made in Italy. The collection is offered at an accessible price point without compromising sound performance, empowering everyone to enjoy a true Sonus faber experience.

A COMPLETE HOME CINEMA SYSTEM TO ENJOY YOUR TIME

The Lumina Collection is obviously perfect for stereo listening. If you’re looking to get more out of your system, Lumina is also an ideal protagonist for a multi-channel system. Providing more emphasis and substance to action scenes, dialogues and soundtracks, Lumina perfectly pairs with the Gravis subwoofer models, which feature matching finishes and materials. Lumina and Gravis combine to create a 5.1 Home Theatre system that offers a rich, articulated sound that provides possibilities for growth and modification tailored to your space and listening needs.

For those wishing to optimise their home space even more, Sonus faber’s Palladio collection of custom-installation speakers offer discreet paintable grills, refined with fine finishes to match any listening environment. Designing a comprehensive Sonus faber multi-channel system has never been more accessible with the Lumina, Gravis and Palladio lines offering endless possibilities that result in a natural sound experience through a clean and beautiful design.

FEATURES

It is the flagship three-way floor standing model in the collection. Lumina V a slender speaker, with high power handling and fast transient response, capable of producing a natural, generous and emotional sound for an immersive listening experience. The Lumina V is rich with new electro-acoustic solutions.

LUTE SHAPE MID-HI INTERNAL CHAMBER

The combination of a 29" silk dome tweeter with the DAD™ (Damped Apex Dome) technology and a 5" midrange with a special natural fibre and a paper blend diaphragm is unchanged. The new design solution of the Lumina V is the internal mid-high volume that is designed with the iconic lute shape, main characteristic for Sonus faber speakers. This feature is able to maximise the structural rigidity and the acoustic performance of the midrange and simultaneously reduce standing waves within the acoustic load volume. The internal structure increases the structural rigidity of the mid-hi inner enclosure and contributes to the midrange frequency response becoming more natural, especially in the frequency range typical of the human voices.

HYBRID IFF CROSSOVER - PARACROSS TOPOLOGY™

The new mid-high crossover network "Hybrid IFF – Paracross Topology™" range combines Interactive Fusion Filtering, first introduced in the Maxima Amator, with the Paracross Topology™, where reactive components (capacitors and inductors/coils) are placed on the negative rail of the circuitry. The resulting benefits include a reduction in the drivers’ back EMF (Electro Motive Force), allowing them to operate in a maximally interconnected and organic way, and lowering of crossover sensitivity to radio frequencies, further improving sound definition.

TERMINALS

Lumina's are provided with two pairs of nickel-plated terminals, allowing for an upgrade experience provided by bi-wiring and bi-amping.

THE MUTLILAYER WOOD FRONT BAFFLE

Among the materials selected for this line what stands out is the Lumina's multilayer wood of the front baffle and the real wood veneer, available in iconic premium finishes including walnut and wenge, both in matte finish with maple inlays, with a third option available in piano black. All other surfaces of the cabinet are hand covered in Sonus faber's iconic black leather.

WOOFER

The diaphragm of the two 6.5" woofers developed for Lumina V is based on the sandwich construction technique: two external layers of cellulose pulp and other natural fibres are combined with a layer of hi-tech syntactic foam in between, guaranteeing a natural sound reproduction.

REFLEX PORT

The reflex port gives additional versatility for the models' range: on the bookshelf and centre channel speakers it's placed on the frontside. Thanks to this solution, Lumina III and Lumina V speakers are significantly less sensitive to its placement, allowing sound excellence even when placed closed to a backwall. It can be placed wherever you want always enjoying a great performance and listening experience.

HYBRID IFF CROSSOVER - PARACROSS TOPOLOGY™

The new mid-high crossover network "Hybrid IFF - Paracross Topology™" range combines Interactive Fusion Filtering, first introduced in the Maxima Amator, with the Paracross Topology™, where reactive components (capacitors and inductors/coils) are placed on the negative rail of the circuitry.
