Powerful Dual Mono Design
At its heart, the Aethos employs a dual mono architecture, ensuring complete channel separation and musical clarity. Each channel features a dedicated power supply built around a custom-wound toroidal transformer, guaranteeing stability under demanding loads. With 156 watts per channel into 6? (125W into 8?), the Aethos can effortlessly drive even the most demanding loudspeakers with authority and control.
High-Performance Power Amplifier
Rega has refined the power amplifier stage to achieve near Class-A performance without the inefficiencies. By combining a low source impedance driver stage with Sanken Darlington output transistors, the Aethos delivers exceptional dynamics, speed, and tonal accuracy.

Precision Volume Control & Line Amplifier
Borrowing and enhancing design concepts from the award-winning Elex-R and Elicit-R, the Aethos uses a custom volume control topology rarely seen outside professional broadcast environments.
• Discrete FET input operational amplifiers with LSK389 FETs
• RK27 Blue Velvet potentiometer for precision
• Reduced noise and channel imbalance thanks to carefully matched components
This ensures the music remains pure, transparent, and free from distortion at any listening level.
Circuit Design & Construction
The Aethos is built with an uncompromising approach to circuit design and component selection. Every part of the signal path has been optimised for purity and performance:

• Polypropylene capacitors throughout the signal path
• K-Power reservoir capacitors for dynamic energy storage
• Regulated power supplies for sensitive amplification stages

• Switchable direct input for integration with external AV processors
• Preamplifier output for use with additional power amplifiers
• Headphone output carefully integrated via the output mute relay, ensuring the main signal path remains uncompromised
