WiiM Sub Pro Wireless Smart Subwoofer
The WiiM Sub Pro is an active smart subwoofer designed to add low-frequency weight, extension and impact to music, television, film and gaming systems.
It can receive bass wirelessly from a paired WiiM device over the home network or connect by RCA cable to a compatible subwoofer output on WiiM and third-party audio equipment.
RoomFit room correction, a 10-band parametric equaliser and detailed bass-management controls are available through the WiiM Home app.
250W Class D Amplification
A built-in Class D amplifier provides 250W RMS continuous power for the custom 8-inch woofer.
WiiM specifies a sound-pressure capability of 104dB SPL, giving the Sub Pro the output required to add convincing scale and impact while retaining the speed and control needed for music.
The vibration-resistant cabinet is designed to limit unwanted rattles and resonances when the subwoofer is working hard.
Deep Bass Extension
The Sub Pro's quoted frequency response is 35Hz to 200Hz within ±3dB, with useful extension down to 25Hz at -6dB.
This allows it to reproduce the low bass that compact loudspeakers cannot normally reach, adding foundation to bass instruments and greater physical impact to film soundtracks and games.
Final results depend on room size, construction, placement, listening position and the crossover selected for the partnering speakers.
RoomFit Room Correction
RoomFit analyses the low-frequency behaviour of the subwoofer in the room and applies digital correction to produce a more even response at the listening position.
It can help reduce excessive peaks caused by room boundaries and placement, making it easier to integrate the Sub Pro with the main loudspeakers.
Room correction cannot overcome every room or placement problem, so it remains worthwhile to try the subwoofer near the front speakers and in alternative positions before running the calibration.
WiiM Home App Control
The WiiM Home app provides access to a 10-band parametric EQ together with adjustable crossover frequency, level, phase and latency.
These controls allow the Sub Pro to be blended more precisely with the partnering speakers and synchronised with the main system.
Settings, pairing, network status, RoomFit and firmware updates are managed from the same interface, and the front status light can be switched on or off in the app.
Wireless WiiM Integration
In wireless mode, the Sub Pro pairs with a WiiM source device through the WiiM Home app. Both products must be connected to the same home network, using Wi-Fi or Ethernet as appropriate.
Current WiiM guidance lists wireless mode as available with WiiM devices other than the WiiM Vibelink Amp. The Vibelink Amp has neither network connectivity nor a subwoofer output and therefore cannot be used with the Sub Pro.
A mains power connection is still required, so wireless refers to the audio signal rather than completely cable-free operation.
Check Wireless Playback Compatibility
WiiM currently advises that the Sub Pro may not reproduce bass in wireless mode during Alexa multi-room music, Roon Ready, LMS or Google Cast playback.
Firmware support can change, so please check current compatibility if one of these playback methods is essential to your system.
Wired RCA Connection
The mono RCA input accepts the subwoofer signal from a compatible amplifier, network player, AV receiver or soundbar with a standard subwoofer output.
An RCA cable is supplied, allowing the Sub Pro to work with third-party equipment as well as WiiM products that provide a physical subwoofer output.
An Ethernet socket is also provided for a stable network connection when the WiiM Home app and smart configuration features are required.
Not a Standalone Music Player
The WiiM Sub Pro reproduces low frequencies supplied by a paired WiiM device or an RCA subwoofer output. It does not replace a streamer, amplifier or full-range loudspeaker system.
Smart Power Management
Automatic standby reduces unnecessary power consumption when the system is not in use.
The Sub Pro can detect an RCA signal or input activity and wake for playback, making it easier to use as part of an everyday music or television system.
