Why Three-Way?
Different driver sizes are naturally suited to different jobs.

135mm Dedicated Midrange Driver

Why Isolate the Midrange?
The powerful bass driver creates substantial changes in pressure inside the main cabinet.

What Is the Back Wave?
When a cone moves, it produces acoustic energy from both its front and rear surfaces.
The front wave enters the room. The rear wave enters the cabinet.

Not a Bookshelf Speaker in the Everyday Sense

At 605mm high, 300mm wide and almost 20kg per cabinet, it needs a large, stable support and sufficient room around it to perform properly.

Can I Use Different Stands?
Yes, provided they are sufficiently strong, stable and appropriately sized.
Each SUPER LINTON cabinet weighs 19.8kg, so a stand intended for small lightweight bookshelf speakers would not be suitable.

90dB Sensitivity

The manufacturer's recommended amplifier range stretches from 25 to 200 watts per channel.
This should not be interpreted as meaning every amplifier within that window sounds or performs identically.
Quality, current delivery, power-supply design and the amplifier's behaviour into real loudspeaker loads remain important.
Will a 25W Amplifier Work?
Yes. Twenty-five watts falls within Wharfedale's recommendation.
In an appropriate room and at sensible listening levels, a high-quality lower-powered amplifier can work very well.
Is 40–60W Enough?
For many normal domestic rooms, yes.
The speaker's 90dB sensitivity means it does not need enormous amounts of power simply to reach useful listening levels.
What About 80–100W?
A capable amplifier around this level provides useful additional headroom for demanding recordings and larger listening spaces.
Can I Use 150–200W?

Can SUPER LINTON Work in a Small Room?
Yes, but careful positioning becomes important.
A small room can reinforce deep bass strongly, particularly if the speakers are forced close to walls or corners.
