Fitting the Mat
- Switch off the turntable.
- Remove the record and existing platter mat.
- Check that the platter is clean and free from loose debris.
- Place the white mat centrally over the spindle.
- Gently smooth it so that it lies flat.
- Check that it remains correctly positioned while the platter rotates.
The mat should normally replace the existing mat rather than being placed on top of it. Stacking mats changes the height of the record and may affect cartridge clearance.
Care and Storage
Keep the mat clean and dry. Loose dust can be removed carefully with a clean, soft brush.
Avoid applying record-cleaning fluid, household sprays or other liquids directly to the wool.
Store the mat flat when it is not in use. Folding or tightly rolling it may leave creases and prevent it from sitting evenly on the platter.
