Dynaudio Contour 25Ci Centre Speaker

Dynaudio Contour 25Ci Centre Speaker

The latest Contour series uses the all new ultra-pure, ultra-clear Esotar2i fabric soft-dome tweeter that features the ingenious Hexis resonance-defeating inner dome, plus a new, larger rear chamber. Together they reduce distortion and gives a flatter frequency response.

In order to compliment one of the finest tweeters ever they have developed new one-piece extended-excursion woofers that are packed with new technology that now receive an updated Nomex spider for even better sound quality. They are simply not utilised on any other speaker design anywhere!

The entire crossover has been re-designed, including using ultra high-quality Mundorf capacitors and a brand-new wiring configuration for even better bass. Due to the driver tweaks providing an inherently flat frequency response, it means Dynaudio has also been able to remove the impedance correction circuitry for an even simpler board.

Ultimately all this awesome new technology is wrapped in a stunning, elegant and sleek looking cabinet that provides a solid foundation for the drivers to do their job. It’s a masterpiece both visually and sonically. The sonic benefits of this cabinet are substantial: reduced high-frequency diffractions, improved off-axis listening to name a few. They are built with genuine Dynaudio craftsmanship in a process that takes 3 weeks, 11 stages of lacquer, and 16 pieces of sand paper.

The Contour 25Ci is a 2.5 way design endowed with two 18cm MSP drivers, coupled with rear porting and better cabinet resonance damping using lessons learned from developing Evoke and Confidence.

Variable thickness across the diaphragm and aluminium voice-coils are just a couple of reasons the Dynaudio drivers perform so well. They can make them extremely light – but also bigger than the old-style copper units you’ll find elsewhere. Lighter weight means larger diameters, which means they can use more windings, which means greater control over the cone movement which then translates to more control over the sound reproduction – especially at high frequencies and high volumes.
