Anniversary upgrades
Celebrating 10 years of the Tucana, the Leema Tucana Anniversary model uses upgraded components for even better sound quality. The capacitors are updated to high spec Nichicon MUSE series. Internal speaker cable is replaced with Leema’s Reference 2 and the PCBs are double weight copper. All this means a sound that’s even purer than the original.
Power for even the toughest speakers
With 150 watts per channel, it’s little surprise that the Tucana Anniversary has the grunt to drive just about any pair of speakers. What’s more, thanks to the trio of toroidal power supplies, there’s always plenty of current, giving very high volume levels before distorting. The sound also has vice-like grip on the bass, giving exceptional timing and control.
Dual Mono design for superb sound staging
The Dual Mono design means that left and right channels each have their own circuit path. This reduces distortion between the channels, meaning you get a clearer and broader soundstage.
Balanced input for reference sound
Along with the wide range of RCA phono inputs, the Tucana Anniversary features balanced XLR inputs. Matched to a compatible source, these give the ultimate connection with the highest level of resistance to electrical interference.
Wide range of connections
With no fewer than six RCA phono inputs, it’s unlikely that you’ll run out of source inputs. On top of this, there’s also a tape loop, that’s ideal for a recording source. Should you want to upgrade to an even more powerful power at a later stage, the pre-amp output lets you use the Tucana II as a pre-amp only. At the front, there’s a headphone socket and ‘MP3’ input.
System synergy with LIPS link
LIPS (Leema Intelligent Protocol System) connects up various Leema products for system synergy. The protocol lets the individual units ‘talk’ to one another, giving intelligent operation. Select the CD source, for example, and the linked Leema CD player powers up automatically.
