Playing 45rpm Records

Synchronous AC Motor Compatibility
The Majik Power Supply is intended for a compatible Linn synchronous AC motor installation.

Replacing Linn Valhalla
Valhalla was Linn's earlier internally mounted electronic LP12 power supply and was discontinued in 2002.
The Majik supply was introduced later as Linn's current entry-level internal motor-control solution.
Linn states that the Karousel bearing must not be used with a Valhalla power supply. An LP12 retaining Valhalla may therefore require a power-supply change as part of a Karousel upgrade.

Does the Majik Supply Include a Phono Stage?
No. The Majik Power Supply operates the LP12 motor only.
It does not amplify the electrical signal produced by the turntable cartridge.
A separate moving magnet or moving coil phono stage is still required according to the cartridge fitted to the LP12.

LP12 Service During Installation

Compatible LP12 Baseboards
The Majik supply is mounted within the plinth and can be used with a compatible Linn Solid Base or Trampolin installation.

Everyday Operation
Once installed, Majik is operated using the normal LP12 power switch.
Pressing the switch starts the motor at 33?rpm, while pressing it again stops the platter.
Allow the platter to reach a stable operating speed before lowering the stylus onto the record.
Stop the platter before fitting or removing a 45rpm adaptor or moving the drive belt.
Care and Maintenance
The Majik Power Supply contains no user-serviceable components.
Do not remove the LP12 baseboard or touch the internal power supply while the turntable is connected to the mains.
