Quad ERA-1 Planar Headphones
Unlike most headphones which use a cone driver, the ERA-1s feature an ultra-thin, electrically active diaphragm which is thinner than a human hair. They have been designed to exhibit a high sensitivity and low impedance that some planar magnetic types struggle to achieve. This has often been seen as a limitation of this style of drive system but Quad claims that the ERA-1s should be easy to drive using a wide range of portable music players and headphone amps alike.
ERA-1 delivers a fast, open and natural sound with spacious three-dimensional stereo imaging, suiting all types of music. The ultra-featherweight driver manages to deliver a frequency range of 10Hz all the way out to 40k Hertz.
The headphones are supplied with two types of earpad, one made from soft leather and the other from latex, topped with a fleecy fabric.
A high-quality, detachable cable is also supplied, together with a durable carrying case.
