The Ruark R710 is a powerful modern music console for customers who want the convenience of an all-in-one source and amplifier without giving up the freedom to choose proper passive loudspeakers.
It takes the compact and elegant approach established by the R610 and raises the performance considerably. The internal Class D amplifier delivers up to 200W per channel into 4 ohms, providing the control and headroom required for a much broader selection of standmount and floorstanding speakers.
The matching Ruark Talisman-R floorstanders are the most natural partners. Their compact proportions and furniture-friendly design reflect the same philosophy as the R710, while the amplifier’s available power allows them to perform with useful scale, bass authority and dynamic confidence.
The smaller Sabre-R speakers can also work extremely well where the room or furniture arrangement favours a standmount design. The R710’s power should be used responsibly with compact speakers, but additional amplifier headroom is not automatically dangerous when the system is operated cleanly and sensibly.
CD playback is built in rather than added through a separate accessory. Ruark’s slot-loading mechanism supports standard Red Book audio CDs and compatible CD-R discs, allowing a physical collection to sit alongside contemporary streaming services without introducing another component or remote control.
Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect cover most modern network-streaming requirements. Compatible lossless files can also be played from USB storage or a UPnP media server at resolutions up to 32-bit/192kHz.
The R710 includes Internet Radio, but it is worth noting that it does not contain the DAB, DAB+ or FM tuners fitted to the R610 and R810. For most customers with a reliable broadband connection, Internet Radio will provide the broadest station choice, but anyone who specifically relies on terrestrial radio should take this difference into account.
HDMI ARC and eARC make the R710 a convincing alternative to a soundbar or AV receiver for customers who prioritise high-quality stereo sound. A compatible television can send audio through one cable and, subject to HDMI CEC support, control the R710 volume and standby state.
A moving-magnet phono stage allows a compatible turntable to connect directly. A separate line input accepts another analogue source, while the optical input accommodates televisions, CD transports, streamers and other digital equipment that provide stereo PCM audio.

The Ruark R710 combines a high-power stereo amplifier, integrated CD player, network streamer, Internet Radio and extensive source connectivity within one furniture-inspired console.
Add a suitable pair of passive speakers and the R710 can provide:

2 x 200W Class D Amplification
The R710’s Class D amplifier is rated at 200W per channel into 4 ohms at 0.01% total harmonic distortion.
This is a substantial increase over the 75W-per-channel R610 and provides additional headroom for:

No. It is a CD, streaming and amplifier console for suitable passive loudspeakers.
How powerful is the amplifier?
Ruark specifies 200W per channel into 4 ohms at 0.01% total harmonic distortion.
Which speakers are the natural partners?
The Ruark Talisman-R floorstanders are the premium matching option. Sabre-R standmount speakers provide a more compact alternative.
Are speaker cables included?
