The result keeps the scale and easy musicality that made the LINTON so appealing while pushing further in bass depth, clarity, control and dynamic ability.
There is still nothing remotely apologetic about the size of it. A 200mm bass driver, dedicated 135mm midrange and 25mm soft-dome tweeter live in a substantial cabinet measuring more than 600mm high, and Wharfedale specifies bass extension down to 32Hz. Yet 90dB sensitivity and a broad 25–200W amplifier recommendation mean SUPER LINTON does not demand extreme amplification to come alive.

What Is SUPER LINTON?
The SUPER LINTON name is not new to Wharfedale.
A Super Linton appeared in 1967, developing the original Linton primarily through cabinet changes.
The modern SUPER LINTON takes the same idea much further. Wharfedale has not simply enlarged the current LINTON cabinet or changed a crossover component or two; the bass system, midrange loading, tweeter, crossover, enclosure and internal wiring have all received substantial attention.

Importantly, SUPER LINTON does not replace the standard Wharfedale LINTON.

Why Use a Three-Way Design?

This package is better thought of as a complete floorstanding installation than simply "bookshelf speakers plus stands".

SUPER LINTON offers a different engineering approach.

Wharfedale recommends amplifiers rated between 25 and 200 watts per channel.

Will a 25W Amplifier Drive SUPER LINTON?
Twenty-five watts sits within Wharfedale's recommendation.
In a normal room at sensible listening levels, a high-quality amplifier of this type can work successfully.
What About 40–60W?
This can be an excellent range for ordinary domestic listening, particularly given the speaker's 90dB sensitivity.
The amplifier's current delivery and overall quality still matter more than simply choosing by one wattage figure.
Would 80–100W Be Better?
A good amplifier around this level provides useful additional dynamic headroom and can be especially worthwhile in medium and larger rooms.
Can I Use 150–200W?
Yes. That remains within Wharfedale's recommendation.
A more powerful amplifier does not continuously force its full rated output into the speaker; it simply has additional electrical headroom available when the recording demands it.
6O Nominal Impedance
SUPER LINTON has a nominal impedance of 6O and is described as compatible with conventional 8O amplification.
The impedance falls to a minimum of 3.9O.
Is SUPER LINTON Hard to Drive?

Medium and larger rooms are the natural environment for a speaker of this scale.

Can SUPER LINTON Work in a Small Room?
It can, but it would not automatically be our first recommendation.
A small room can reinforce the speaker's deep bass strongly and may not provide sufficient space around the stands for good positioning.
In tighter rooms, SUPER DENTON may be easier to integrate.
Can It Work in a Large Room?
Yes. This is one of the areas where SUPER LINTON makes most sense.
