One Amplifier for Music and Television
The MODEL 60n is designed for stereo rather than surround sound. Its HDMI ARC connection accepts two-channel PCM from a compatible television, allowing programmes, films and games to be heard through a pair of stereo speakers. It does not decode Dolby Digital, DTS or other multichannel formats.

Current-Feedback Topology

Ethernet or Dual-Band Wi-Fi
The amplifier can connect to a home network using wired Ethernet or dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.

High-Resolution Network and USB Playback
PCM and DSD Music Files
Compatible network servers and USB storage devices can supply high-resolution music files to the amplifier’s internal DAC.
Supported formats include MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC, WAV, ALAC, AIFF and DSD. Marantz specifies PCM support up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD playback up to 11.2MHz.
Rear USB-A Connection
The rear USB-A port accepts compatible FAT32 or NTFS storage devices. Music stored on the connected device is browsed and controlled through the HEOS app.
The USB connection is not a computer USB DAC input. A Windows PC or Mac cannot be connected directly using a USB cable.
HDMI ARC and Digital Sources
HDMI ARC for Compatible Televisions
HDMI ARC allows television sound to be returned to the MODEL 60n using a single compatible HDMI cable. HDMI control can provide linked power, source and volume operation through a suitable television remote.
The connection is ARC rather than eARC and accepts two-channel PCM. The television must be configured to output PCM stereo rather than Dolby Digital, DTS or another multichannel format.
Optical and Coaxial Inputs
One optical and one coaxial digital input allow compatible CD players, televisions, transports and other digital sources to use the MODEL 60n’s internal DAC.
These connections accept two-channel PCM at sampling rates up to 192kHz and bit depths up to 24-bit.
Set the Television to PCM Stereo
The MODEL 60n does not decode Dolby Digital, DTS or AAC signals through HDMI ARC, optical or coaxial connections. Set the connected television or source to two-channel PCM before playback. Sending an unsupported bitstream may produce noise and could risk damage to the loudspeakers.
Vinyl, CD and Analogue Sources
Moving-Magnet Phono Input
The dedicated phono input allows a turntable fitted with a compatible moving-magnet cartridge to be connected without a separate phono stage.

Three Line-Level Inputs
Separate CD, Line 1 and Line 2 RCA inputs accommodate conventional analogue sources such as a CD player, tuner, cassette deck, external DAC or phono stage.
The Marantz CD 60 provides a matching dedicated CD source, although the amplifier can be used with suitable components from any manufacturer.
Source Direct
Bass, treble and balance controls allow the presentation to be adjusted for the room, recording or listener.
Source Direct bypasses these adjustments when a more direct signal path is preferred.
Wired and Bluetooth Headphones
A front headphone output supports conventional wired headphones. The MODEL 60n can also transmit compatible sources to one pair of Bluetooth headphones or speakers.

Pre-Out and Subwoofer Expansion
Stereo Preamplifier Output
The stereo pre-out can feed a compatible external power amplifier, allowing the MODEL 60n to retain responsibility for source selection, streaming and volume control.
This provides an upgrade route if the system later requires different or more powerful amplification. The MODEL 60n does not have a Power Amp Direct input for bypassing its own preamplifier.
Mono Subwoofer Output
A mono output allows a compatible active subwoofer to be added for deeper bass extension and additional low-frequency scale.

Important Speaker Connection Details
The MODEL 60n provides one pair of Marantz SPKT-1+ speaker terminals. It does not offer speaker A/B switching, separate terminals for a second zone or a passive bi-amping arrangement.
