Advance Paris A12 Classic Integrated Amplifier
The Advance Paris A12 Classic is a high-power hybrid integrated amplifier with a dual-mono internal design.
Two ECC81/12AT7 valves are used within its preamplifier stage, while a transistor-based Class A/B output section supplies the current required to control passive loudspeakers.
The extensive connection panel includes five RCA line inputs, two balanced XLR inputs, MM and MC phono, seven conventional digital inputs, USB audio, HDMI ARC and separate preamplifier and power-amplifier connections.
Hybrid Valve and Transistor Amplification
The A12 Classic uses valves and transistors for different parts of the amplification process.
The two ECC81/12AT7 valves process the selected source within the preamplifier stage. The resulting signal is then passed to the Class A/B transistor power amplifier.
This arrangement combines valve-based preamplification with the output power, current delivery and loudspeaker control of solid-state amplification.
Dual-Mono Construction

Speaker A and B Outputs
Two sets of loudspeaker terminals allow Speaker A, Speaker B or both pairs to be selected.
The terminals accept properly prepared bare cable, suitable spade connectors and compatible 4mm banana plugs.
The manufacturer specifies loudspeakers of 4 ohms or higher when using one speaker pair. When Speaker A and Speaker B are operated together, each loudspeaker pair should have a nominal impedance of at least 6 ohms.
Take Care When Using Two Speaker Pairs
Operating Speaker A and Speaker B simultaneously creates a more demanding electrical load.
Check the impedance of both pairs and speak to Audio T before using them together if compatibility is uncertain.
Maintaining Correct Speaker Polarity
Connect the amplifier’s positive terminal to the corresponding positive loudspeaker terminal and negative to negative.
Repeat the same arrangement for the other channel. Reversing the polarity of one loudspeaker can weaken central imaging and reduce bass performance.
Switch the amplifier off before changing speaker cables and ensure that no exposed strands can bridge adjacent terminals.
Two Headphone Outputs
Two front-panel headphone connections allow compatible wired headphones to be used.
The gain and output impedance can be adjusted independently for each headphone output.
The available impedance settings are intended to accommodate lower-impedance and medium-to-high-impedance headphones.
Reduce the volume before inserting or removing headphones and begin listening at a low level.
Trigger Outputs
Two 12V trigger outputs allow compatible components to coordinate their power state with the A12 Classic.
