The VC-S3 ALU is Pro-Ject's larger premium machine, combining a 30 RPM bi-directional drive with a powerful vacuum system that can remove the cleaning fluid and leave a record dry in as little as two rotations.
The operation is deliberately straightforward. Place the record on the machine, fit the magnetic clamp, apply the ready-mixed Wash it 2 fluid with the supplied brush and then let the metal vacuum arm extract the dissolved dirt and fluid from the groove. Why Wet Clean a Record?
A dry carbon-fibre brush is useful for removing loose surface dust before playing a record, but dirt can also become lodged much deeper within the groove.
A wet cleaning process allows suitable fluid to loosen contamination before it is physically extracted rather than simply moved across the record surface.
This can be particularly useful with:
- Second-hand records
- Records stored for many years

- New records carrying manufacturing or packaging residue
Vacuum Cleaning Rather Than Air Drying
After the cleaning fluid has worked into the groove, the VC-S3 uses its dedicated vacuum motor and suction arm to remove it again.

2.5-Litre Waste-Fluid Tank
Used cleaning liquid is collected inside a large 2.5-litre internal reservoir.
