Audio T Verdict
The DALI WSR is a simple and practical way to add an existing active subwoofer to a compatible DALI EQUI system without running a long audio cable across the room.
It receives the wireless subwoofer signal from a DALI SOUND HUB or SOUND HUB COMPACT and provides a mono RCA output for connection to the subwoofer. Support for 24-bit/96kHz audio helps maintain the quality of the signal, while its compact design allows it to be positioned discreetly near the subwoofer.
The WSR is designed specifically for DALI EQUI systems and is not a general Bluetooth or Wi-Fi subwoofer adaptor. Provided that you have a compatible DALI hub and an active subwoofer with an RCA or LFE input, it offers a neat solution for more flexible subwoofer placement.
Add Wireless Connectivity to an Active Subwoofer
The DALI WSR allows a conventional active subwoofer to become part of a DALI EQUI wireless stereo or surround sound system.
The wireless signal is received from a compatible DALI SOUND HUB or SOUND HUB COMPACT before being converted into a mono analogue signal. This is then passed to the subwoofer through the WSR’s RCA output.
Simple Connection and Setup
- Switch off the active subwoofer before making any connections.
- Connect the supplied RCA phono cable between the WSR and the subwoofer’s LFE or line-level input.
- Power the WSR using a suitable USB-C 5V power supply.
- Use the Link & Connect buttons on the DALI SOUND HUB and WSR to complete wireless pairing.
Once connected, the subwoofer level and filter controls should be adjusted to suit the room, main loudspeakers and listening position.
24-Bit/96kHz Wireless Audio
The WSR supports a 24-bit signal resolution and sample rates of up to 96kHz. Its mono RCA output provides a maximum output level of 2V RMS for connection to a suitable active subwoofer.
Check Compatibility Before Buying
The DALI WSR requires a compatible DALI SOUND HUB or SOUND HUB COMPACT. It must also be connected to an active subwoofer with a suitable RCA line-level or LFE input. It cannot be used as a standalone Bluetooth or Wi-Fi receiver.
