Audio T Verdict
The Flexson Wall Mount is a neat alternative to simply placing Sonos Beam on the TV cabinet. Designed specifically around the shape and mounting points of both the original Beam and Beam (Gen 2), it gives the soundbar a secure permanent position directly beneath a wall-mounted television while keeping the installation looking suitably discreet.
Its high-grade steel construction feels much more substantial than a generic shelf, while the open central section leaves useful access for the Beam's power and television connections. Once mounted, the soundbar is secured to the bracket using dedicated M5 screws rather than simply resting loose on a platform.
This is a fixed wall bracket rather than an adjustable tilt or swivel mount, and that simplicity is really the point. If the television is permanently wall mounted and you want Beam to sit neatly beneath it without occupying furniture space, the Flexson mount provides a tidy, purpose-designed solution in Black or White to match the soundbar.
Flexson Wall Mount for Sonos Beam and Beam (Gen 2)
The Flexson Wall Mount is purpose-designed for secure installation of the Sonos Beam or Sonos Beam (Gen 2) directly onto a suitable wall.
Manufactured from high-grade steel, the bracket follows the proportions of Beam closely so it remains discreet once the soundbar is fitted. The open design provides plenty of space for routing power, HDMI or optical connections behind the speaker, while dedicated mounting points allow Beam to be screwed securely to the bracket.

Compatible With Sonos Beam and Beam (Gen 2)
Although this Flexson mount was originally introduced for the first-generation Sonos Beam, the current version remains officially specified for both Beam generations.
That makes it suitable for:
- Sonos Beam
- Sonos Beam (Gen 2)
The current Sonos Beam (Gen 2) retains the physical mounting arrangement required by the Flexson bracket, allowing the same accessory to be used with the newer Dolby Atmos model.
Already Own the Original Beam?
You do not need a different version of this wall mount when upgrading or reinstalling an original Sonos Beam. Flexson currently specifies the bracket for both Beam and Beam (Gen 2).
Designed Specifically for Beam
A generic soundbar shelf may physically support a Beam, but it is not designed around the speaker's dimensions, fixing points or cable connections.
Flexson takes a different approach. The bracket follows the shape of the soundbar and provides dedicated securing points so the Beam becomes physically attached to the mount rather than simply sitting on top of it.
Secure Screw-Fixed Installation
Once the wall bracket has been installed, the Beam slides into position on the platform and is secured from below using two M5 x 10mm screws.
This gives the soundbar a positive mechanical connection to the bracket and helps prevent it being knocked or moved during normal use.
Two M5 x 10mm Screws Included
The Flexson installation instructions specify two M5 x 10mm screws for attaching Beam to the wall mount.
A 3mm Allen key is also supplied for tightening these screws.
Speaker Fixings and Wall Fixings Are Different
The supplied M5 screws secure the Sonos Beam to the Flexson bracket. They are not the screws used to attach the bracket itself to the wall.
Suitable Wall Fixings Required
The installation instructions specify that suitable wall fixings are also required.
The correct screws, plugs or specialist anchors depend on the construction of the wall and should therefore be selected for the specific installation rather than relying on one generic fixing type.
Choose Wall Fixings for the Wall Construction
Brick, block, timber studwork and plasterboard can all require different fixing methods. The supplied Beam securing screws should not be confused with suitable structural wall fixings. If there is any doubt about the wall construction or its ability to support the installation safely, use an experienced installer.
High-Grade Steel Construction
Flexson manufactures the wall mount from high-grade steel.
The rigid single-piece platform provides a substantial foundation for the soundbar while remaining visually discreet beneath Beam once installation is complete.
Fixed-Position Design
This is a simple fixed wall mount rather than a tilting, swivelling or articulated bracket.
Once installed, Beam sits parallel to the wall in a permanent position beneath or near the television.
This makes the bracket best suited to installations where the television itself has a fixed wall position.
Flexson Wall Mount
- Fixes directly to the wall
- Fixed soundbar position
- Ideal beneath a fixed wall-mounted TV
- Minimal moving parts
- Purpose-designed Beam support
- Neat cable access
TV-Mounted Soundbar Bracket
- Typically attaches through TV/VESA mounting system
- Can move with a compatible articulated TV mount
- Useful when the television swivels
- More complex installation
- Requires suitable TV mounting arrangement
- Different product type
Ideal Beneath a Wall-Mounted Television
The most obvious use for this bracket is directly beneath a television that is already fixed to the wall.
This keeps the visual relationship between television and soundbar tidy while freeing the TV cabinet for other equipment or removing the need for furniture beneath the screen altogether.
Free Up Furniture Space
Wall mounting Beam can release useful surface area on a media unit for:
- Games consoles
- Streaming boxes
- Blu-ray players
- Set-top boxes
- Turntables and hi-fi equipment
- Or simply a cleaner, less cluttered installation
Useful for Minimalist TV Installations
If the television is wall mounted with concealed cabling, mounting Beam beneath it can create a particularly clean installation with very little equipment visible in the room.
The soundbar remains easy to access if servicing or cable changes are needed later.
Easy Cable Routing
The centre of the Flexson bracket is deliberately open around the rear connection area of Beam.
This provides space for the power cable and television audio connection to pass behind or through the installation without being trapped between solid layers of steel.
Beam (Gen 2) HDMI eARC Cable Routing
With Beam (Gen 2), the normal television connection is HDMI eARC or HDMI ARC.
The Flexson bracket leaves access around the rear of the soundbar so the HDMI and mains cables can be routed neatly towards the television or through an appropriate cable-management system.
Original Beam Cable Routing
The same open access works with the original Beam, whether it is connected through HDMI ARC or via its appropriate optical adapter arrangement.
Plan Cable Routing Before Drilling
It is worth deciding how the cables will reach the television before fixing the bracket permanently.
Depending on the room, this may involve:
- Surface cable trunking
- An existing wall conduit
- A suitable recessed cable-management system
- Routing behind television furniture
- Professional in-wall installation where appropriate
Check for Hidden Services Before Drilling
Before drilling into a wall, make sure the proposed fixing positions do not contain hidden electrical cables, water pipes or other services.
Black or White
The mount is available in Black and White to complement the corresponding Sonos Beam finishes.
Most of the bracket is hidden once the soundbar is fitted, but colour matching helps the remaining visible edges blend naturally into the installation.
Designed and Manufactured in the UK
Flexson states that the Beam / Beam 2 Wall Mount is designed and manufactured in the UK.
It forms part of the company's range of specialist installation accessories created specifically around Sonos products rather than generic loudspeaker brackets.
640mm Width
The current Flexson specification gives the wall mount a width of approximately 640mm.
This is wider than the Beam cabinet itself because the steel platform extends beyond the underside mounting points to provide a stable support surface.
43mm Height
The manufacturer specification lists an overall bracket height of approximately 43mm.
Much of this sits behind or beneath the soundbar once Beam is installed.
126mm Depth
The current Flexson product specification gives a depth of approximately 126mm.
This creates the supporting platform onto which Beam is positioned before being secured from below.
1.86kg Steel Bracket
The mount itself weighs approximately 1.86kg.
This weight should be considered alongside the soundbar when selecting appropriate wall fixings and assessing the wall construction.
Wall Mount Dimensions
- Height: 43mm
- Width: 640mm
- Depth: 126mm
- Weight: 1.86kg
Multiple Wall-Fixing Slots
The rear flanges incorporate elongated fixing slots rather than forcing the installer to use a single exact screw position.
This provides some flexibility when positioning the structural wall fixings while keeping the bracket properly aligned beneath the television.
Two Structural Wall Fixings Required
Flexson's current installation instructions call for two suitable wall fixings.
These should be selected according to the wall material and installed so the bracket is level and securely supported.
Use a Level During Installation
Because Beam sits directly beneath a straight-edged television, even a small mounting error can be visually obvious.
Marking the fixing positions carefully and checking the bracket with a spirit level before drilling helps achieve a much cleaner final result.
Installation Overview
- Choose the Beam position relative to the television.
- Check the wall construction and identify suitable structural fixing points.
- Check for hidden electrical cables, plumbing or other services.
- Plan the power and HDMI or optical cable route.
- Hold the Flexson bracket level against the wall.
- Mark the required fixing positions.
- Drill and install suitable fixings for the wall construction.
- Secure the Flexson wall mount firmly to the wall.
- Route the Beam cables through the open central area.
- Slide the Sonos Beam into position on the mount.
- Align the two underside mounting points.
- Insert the supplied M5 x 10mm screws.
- Tighten them using the supplied 3mm Allen key.
- Check that Beam is secure and level.
- Connect power and television audio.
- Complete or recheck the Sonos TV setup.
Do Not Overtighten the Beam Securing Screws
The supplied screws are there to secure the soundbar to the bracket. Tighten them firmly using the supplied Allen key without applying unnecessary force.
Can the Bracket Be Installed Above the TV?
The physical bracket secures Beam to a wall, but beneath the television is normally the most natural installation because the soundbar is designed to serve the main viewing position from the front of the room.
Any alternative position should preserve unobstructed sound and sensible cable routing.
Keep the Front of Beam Unobstructed
The wall mount supports the soundbar from underneath and behind, leaving its acoustic front surface exposed.
Do not install decorative trims, shelves or other objects directly in front of the Beam grille.
Allow Access to the Top Controls
Leave enough clearance above Beam to reach its touch controls when required.
This is particularly worth checking if the soundbar is being installed very close beneath the bottom edge of a television.
Trueplay After Wall Mounting
Moving Beam from a TV cabinet onto the wall changes its relationship with nearby surfaces.
If the Beam system has previously been Trueplay tuned, perform the appropriate tuning process again after the soundbar is installed in its final wall-mounted position.
Retune After Changing Position
A previous Trueplay measurement was based on the old location. Once Beam has been permanently wall mounted, retuning gives the Sonos system a measurement based on the new room position.
Beam (Gen 2) and Dolby Atmos
The wall mount is fully compatible with Beam (Gen 2), allowing its Dolby Atmos home cinema features to be retained while the soundbar is installed beneath the television.
The Flexson bracket itself does not process or alter any audio signal; it simply provides the physical mounting solution.
No Effect on HDMI eARC or ARC
Provided the cables remain accessible and are not pinched during installation, wall mounting does not change the Beam's HDMI connection or television audio capabilities.
Expand the Beam System Later
Wall mounting Beam does not prevent the Sonos home cinema system being expanded later.
Compatible options can include:
Wall Mounting With Surround Speakers
If Beam forms the front of a complete Sonos surround system, its physical position beneath the television does not change the wireless relationship with compatible rear speakers or Sub products.
Simply re-run the relevant room tuning after major placement changes.
Not a Universal Soundbar Mount
This Flexson bracket is specifically shaped and drilled for Sonos Beam.
It should not be treated as a universal soundbar shelf for products from other manufacturers or larger Sonos soundbars.
Not for Sonos Arc, Arc Ultra or Ray
Those soundbars have different cabinet dimensions and mounting arrangements. Use the appropriate purpose-designed bracket for the exact soundbar model.
Wall Mount or TV Mount Attachment?
Flexson currently offers more than one Beam mounting approach.
This product is designed to fix the soundbar directly to the room wall. A separate TV mount attachment is intended for installations where Beam needs to be physically associated with the television mounting system.
Choose This Wall Mount If...
- Your TV is fixed permanently to the wall
- You want Beam mounted independently beneath it
- You want a simple fixed-position bracket
- You do not need the soundbar to move with the television
- You want a minimal, discreet installation
Consider a TV Mount Attachment If...
- Your television uses an articulated wall mount
- You want the soundbar to move with the television
- The TV regularly swivels towards different seating positions
- You do not want a separate soundbar fixing on the wall
- Your television mounting system is compatible

High-grade steel.
Where is it designed?
Flexson states that it is designed and manufactured in the UK.
What colours are available?
Black and White.
Is the Black version intended for Black Beam?
Yes. Flexson offers corresponding Black and White finishes to complement the two Beam colour options.
Can the mount tilt?
No. It is a fixed-position wall mount.
Can it swivel?
No.
Can Beam be angled towards the sofa?
Not using this bracket. Beam remains parallel to the wall once installed.
How is Beam secured to the bracket?
The soundbar is positioned on the bracket and secured from underneath using two M5 x 10mm screws.
Are the Beam securing screws included?
Yes. Flexson's installation instructions show two M5 x 10mm screws.
Is an Allen key included?
Yes. A 3mm Allen key is specified in the installation instructions.
Are wall plugs included?
The current installation instructions specify that suitable wall fixings are additionally required, so the correct fixing hardware should be chosen for the particular wall construction.
Why are generic wall plugs not supplied?
Different wall constructions require different types of structural fixing. Brick, block, plasterboard and timber studwork cannot all be treated in exactly the same way.
Can I install it on plasterboard?
Potentially, but suitable structural plasterboard or stud fixings must be selected for the installation and the wall must be capable of safely supporting the combined load.
Can it be installed on brick?
Yes, using suitable masonry fixings appropriate for the particular wall.
Can I install it on a timber stud wall?
Yes where suitable secure fixing points are available and appropriate hardware is used.
Should I use a professional installer?
If you are unsure about the wall construction, hidden services or appropriate fixings, professional installation is the sensible option.
Does the bracket provide cable access?
Yes. The open design provides access for Beam's power and television audio cables.
Can HDMI eARC still be used with Beam Gen 2?
Yes. The bracket does not alter Beam's electronic connections and leaves space for normal cable routing.
Can I still use HDMI ARC?
Yes.
Can the original Beam still use its optical adapter?
Yes, provided the normal Sonos adapter and cable arrangement is routed appropriately behind the installed soundbar.
Can cables be hidden inside the wall?
That depends on the construction of the wall and applicable installation requirements. A suitable professional cable-management solution should be used where cables are to be concealed.
How wide is the wall mount?
Flexson currently specifies approximately 640mm.
How deep is it?
Approximately 126mm according to the current Flexson product specification.
How high is it?
Approximately 43mm.
How much does it weigh?
Approximately 1.86kg.
Does the mount block the front of Beam?
No. The soundbar's acoustic front remains exposed.
Can I still access Beam's touch controls?
Yes, provided sufficient clearance is left above the soundbar when choosing the installation height.
How close should Beam be to the TV?
Leave enough room to access the soundbar controls and cables and make sure neither product obstructs the other. The exact spacing can be chosen to suit the television and installation.
Can the mount go inside a media unit?
It is designed principally for wall mounting. If Beam is already sitting securely on furniture or inside an appropriate open cabinet, a dedicated wall bracket may not provide any advantage.
Can it be mounted above the television?
The bracket can physically secure Beam to a suitable wall, but beneath the television is normally the preferred installation position.
Will wall mounting improve the sound?
The main benefits are positioning and a cleaner installation rather than an automatic guarantee of improved sound quality. Moving Beam can alter its interaction with the room, so Trueplay should be run again after installation where available.
Should I re-run Trueplay?
Yes. If Beam has moved from furniture onto a wall, retune the system once it is in its final position.
Does the bracket affect Dolby Atmos on Beam Gen 2?
No. It is a mechanical mounting accessory and does not change Beam Gen 2's Dolby Atmos processing.
Can I still add Sub Mini after wall mounting Beam?
Yes.
Can I add Sub 4?
Yes, in a compatible Sonos Beam system.
Can I still add rear surrounds?
Yes. Wall mounting Beam does not prevent compatible Sonos rear speakers being added later.
Does the bracket move with an articulated TV?
No. This bracket attaches directly to the room wall, so it stays fixed even if the television is mounted on an adjustable arm.
What should I use if I want Beam to move with the TV?
A compatible TV-mounted soundbar attachment is the more appropriate style of product for that type of installation.
What is supplied in the box?
The current Flexson product listing specifies the wall mount and instructions, while the current installation manual also shows two M5 x 10mm Beam securing screws and a 3mm Allen key. Suitable wall fixings are additionally required.
