ATC SCM100PSL Passive Speakers
The ATC SCM100PSL is a three-way passive loudspeaker system supplied as a pair with matching 200mm stands, fabric-wrapped grilles and adjustable floor spikes.
It combines drive-unit technology developed for ATC’s professional studio monitors with the finish and presentation required for a high-performance domestic music system.
Unlike the active SCM100ASL, the passive SCM100PSL requires a suitable external stereo power amplifier. This gives the owner freedom to select and upgrade the amplification independently.
True Three-Way Loudspeaker Design
The SCM100PSL uses separate drivers for bass, midrange and high frequencies.
Dividing the audio spectrum between three specialised drive units allows the critical vocal and instrumental range to be handled independently from the large bass driver.
The passive crossover operates at 380Hz and 3.5kHz, directing each part of the signal to the driver designed to reproduce it.
ATC 75mm Soft-Dome Midrange
ATC’s handmade SM75-150S 75mm soft-dome midrange is central to the SCM100PSL’s performance.
This dedicated driver reproduces much of the vocal and instrumental spectrum without also being required to produce deep bass. The result is exceptional clarity, low colouration and a natural presentation of voices, strings, guitars, brass and percussion.
Its controlled dispersion also helps the speakers create a stable stereo image across a useful listening area.
314mm Super Linear Bass Driver
Low frequencies are reproduced by ATC’s substantial 314mm professional-level bass driver.
Super Linear Magnet technology is designed to reduce magnetic distortion within the drive system, helping the speaker combine powerful bass with accurate pitch, timing and low-level detail.
The enhanced port profile and large cabinet allow the SCM100PSL to reach 35Hz at the stated minus 6dB point.
ATC 25mm High-Frequency Driver
