The Solidsteel HF-4 Elite takes one of the company's most substantial conventional equipment racks and gives it a finish that feels much more at home amongst quality furniture. Mechanically it follows the established HF formula, with a four-pillar stainless steel structure, 30mm shelves, adjustable Hyperspike feet and an 80kg load capacity for every level. The difference is that the Elite platforms are finished in genuine wood veneer rather than black or white lacquer.
Four individual platforms make the HF-4 Elite particularly well suited to larger separates systems. A turntable, streamer, phono stage and integrated amplifier can all have their own support, as can a digital source, DAC, preamplifier and power amplifier. The generous 305mm lower interval is useful for substantial amplification, while the two 205mm upper intervals suit the majority of source and control components.
It is substantial without being needlessly complicated. Large 645 x 561mm shelves, approximately 535mm of usable width between the pillars and an 80kg capacity per platform mean the HF-4 Elite can accommodate genuinely serious equipment, while the open construction provides good ventilation and straightforward access to rear connections.

Genuine Wood-Veneer Shelves
The Elite platforms use a substantial 30mm MDF core finished with sheets of real decorative timber.
This construction combines the consistent engineered structure of MDF with the colour, grain and natural variation of genuine wood.
The result is very different visually from a printed wood-effect finish, particularly once the rack is seen alongside other natural timber furniture.

A wood-veneered platform uses a thin sheet of real timber over the engineered MDF core. This provides natural grain and tonal variation while retaining the structural consistency of the underlying shelf material.

Beneath the decorative veneer, each Elite platform uses a substantial 30mm engineered MDF structure.
