The HF-A does all of that while still giving the amplifier the same kind of dedicated mechanical support as the rest of a properly installed hi-fi system.

Check Your Amplifier Before Ordering

Why Use a Separate Amplifier Stand?

A large amplifier can be one of the heaviest, hottest and deepest components in a hi-fi system.

An amplifier weighing 40kg may be comfortably inside the HF-A's load rating but still be too wide for the 404mm platform, or require more space around its chassis than your intended position allows. Always consider weight, dimensions, feet, cabling and ventilation together.

A Deep 600mm Platform

At approximately 600mm deep, the HF-A provides considerably more front-to-back space than many conventional hi-fi shelves.

That is useful because large amplifiers can be surprisingly deep once their rear connections are taken into account.

Do Not Rely on Chassis Overhang

We would not recommend assuming that an amplifier wider than 404mm is automatically suitable simply because part of its chassis could overhang the stand. Check the position and spacing of the amplifier feet and speak to Audio T if you are unsure. For particularly large amplifiers, another Solidsteel platform size may be more appropriate.

30mm MDF Platform

The HF-A uses a substantial 30mm MDF equipment shelf with a lacquered finish.

MDF has a relatively consistent internal structure without the continuous natural grain found in solid timber, while the 30mm thickness gives the platform the rigidity required to support heavy amplification.

Solidsteel's current HF specification identifies its shelf material as ennobled MDF compliant with CARB 2 requirements.
