The extra mass provides a solid foundation for the platter and tonearm, while Audio-Technica combines it with high-isolation, height-adjustable feet to help reduce unwanted acoustic and mechanical vibration reaching the cartridge.

The belt-drive motor is electronically monitored rather than simply being left to run open loop. Audio-Technica's Active Speed Stabilization system uses a speed sensor to monitor platter rotation and help maintain accurate 33? and 45rpm playback.

The straight tonearm is made from carbon fibre and provides proper adjustment for tracking force and anti-skate.
