Precision-Engineered Tonearm
The Planar 1 is fitted with Rega’s bespoke RB110 tonearm, featuring a patent-pending “zero play” ultra-low friction ball bearing assembly for outstanding tracking and musical detail. An automatic bias system eliminates the need for manual adjustments, while the integrated arm clip and stiffer, re-designed headshell improve usability and style.
Factory-Fitted Cartridge
Every Planar 1 comes with a factory-fitted Rega Carbon moving magnet cartridge, so you can start spinning records straight out of the box. This high-quality cartridge is perfectly matched to the tonearm for optimal performance.
24V Synchronous Motor
For the first time on an entry-level Rega turntable, the Planar 1 features a 24V synchronous AC motor with a precision aluminium pulley. Combined with a new motor PCB, this design reduces vibration and improves speed stability, ensuring smooth, accurate playback.
Upgraded Drive System & Platter
The latest EBLT advanced drive belt delivers improved accuracy and speed consistency. The higher-mass 23mm phenolic resin platter benefits from a flywheel effect for greater stability, while the brass main bearing housing reduces mechanical stress and minimises energy transfer.
Refined Plinth & Finishes
The Planar 1’s sleek plinth is constructed from premium thermoset laminate, available in three finishes: matt black, matt white, and a special edition Walnut effect. The underside-mounted power switch keeps the design clean and minimal, while newly re-engineered feet improve isolation from vibration.
Special Edition Walnut Finish
Introduced in 2022, the Walnut effect option offers a high-quality, realistic finish complemented by a premium smoked dust cover, giving the turntable an elegant, vintage-inspired appearance.
