Speakers used for conventional stereo listening will usually sound most balanced when their high-frequency drivers are positioned close to the listener's ear level or aimed appropriately towards the listening area.

15kg Speaker Capacity per Stand
The SLX1000 is designed to support one compatible loudspeaker weighing up to 15kg on each stand.

Do not assume that mass loading the stand increases its stated speaker capacity. The 15kg limit should still be observed.
High Load Trapezoidal Isolation Gel Pads
High Load Trapezoidal isolation gel pads are included for placement between the loudspeaker cabinet and steel top plate.
These pads help protect the underside of the cabinet, improve contact with the stand and reduce minor movement between the two surfaces.

Adjustable 8mm Floor Spikes
Eight adjustable BZP 8mm floor spikes are included across the pair.
The spikes allow each stand to be levelled on slightly uneven flooring and feature stainless-steel detailed top caps for easier adjustment.
Once each stand is upright and stable, the spike hardware should be tightened securely.
Protect Hard Flooring
Steel spikes can damage wood, laminate, vinyl, tile and other delicate surfaces.
Atacama recommends two packs of HD-S spike shoes when the pair is installed on a vulnerable floor covering.
Optional Top Spikes
Optional top spikes can be fitted in place of the supplied gel pads where a rigid mechanical interface is preferred and the speaker construction permits their use.
Top spikes can mark or damage the underside of a loudspeaker cabinet and should not be fitted without confirming that the speaker manufacturer allows this type of support.
The supplied gel pads are the safer starting point for most domestic installations.
Speaker Placement and Aiming
Extra height changes how the speaker interacts with both the listener and the room.
Once installed, check whether the speakers need to remain level or be angled towards the listening area. Do not attempt to create a downward angle using unstable packing materials.
Keep the left and right speakers positioned symmetrically where they are being used as a stereo pair, and experiment with distance from nearby walls.
