Balanced CD Input
This M3 version includes one pair of balanced XLR line-level inputs.
Each input channel connects to an Audio Note transformer designed and manufactured for balanced analogue operation.
The name “Balanced CD Input” reflects its intended use with a CD player or DAC fitted with correctly specified balanced analogue outputs.
The Balanced CD Input Is Analogue
The XLR input does not accept AES/EBU digital audio. It is not a digital input and does not contain a DAC.
A CD transport with an AES/EBU digital output requires a separate DAC. Only the DAC's analogue outputs should connect to the M3.
Not Restricted to CD Players
Although Audio Note calls it the Balanced CD Input, the connection can be used with another compatible line-level source.

Transformer-Coupled Balanced Input

Dimensions and Installation
The M3 measures 140mm high, 440mm wide and 410mm deep, and weighs 16kg.
Allow additional rear space for RCA, XLR and mains connections. Balanced plugs can require more clearance than conventional RCA connectors.

Ventilation and Heat
