In a push-pull output stage, the output valves work together across opposing portions of the signal waveform before their contribution is combined by the output transformer.

Damping Factor of 20

QUAD specifies a damping factor of 20 at 700Hz, referred to the 8-ohm output.

Damping factor describes the relationship between the amplifier's effective output impedance and the loudspeaker load.

It should not be used as a stand-alone sound-quality score, but it is a useful technical characteristic when considering how an amplifier interfaces electrically with a loudspeaker.

Wide 10Hz to 30kHz Frequency Response

The QII-Forty is specified from 10Hz to 30kHz at +0dB/-0.5dB.
