IsoAcoustics GAIA Series Speaker and Subwoofer Isolation Feet
The IsoAcoustics GAIA Series consists of threaded isolation feet for compatible floorstanding loudspeakers, subwoofers and speaker stands.
Each GAIA replaces an existing factory spike or foot and screws securely into the threaded insert beneath the cabinet or stand.
The dark chrome housings contain IsoAcoustics’ patented directional isolators, which manage mechanical energy while resisting excessive lateral movement and oscillation.
Four Feet Are Supplied for One Speaker
Each GAIA I, GAIA II or GAIA III package contains four isolation feet.
The stated weight capacity applies to the complete set of four supporting one speaker or subwoofer. A conventional stereo pair normally requires two boxes.

Patented Speaker Isolation
A loudspeaker cabinet creates mechanical energy as its drive units move forwards and backwards.
Conventional spikes create a rigid connection between the speaker and floor, allowing some of this energy to enter the supporting structure and potentially excite floorboards, furniture and other objects within the room.
The GAIA isolators create a controlled connection intended to reduce this energy transfer while maintaining stable support and accurate speaker positioning.
Only the Lower Isolator Contacts the Floor
Some isolation feet allow their outer metal housing to make direct contact with the floor, creating a rigid path around the isolating material inside.
The GAIA design avoids this by ensuring that only the lower isolator contacts the supporting surface.
Mechanical energy is therefore managed through the internal isolation system rather than passing directly through the external housing.
Reducing Structure-Borne Vibration
Structure-borne vibration travels mechanically through floors, furniture and the building rather than through the air.
This can cause lightweight flooring, cabinets, doors and nearby equipment to resonate along with the loudspeaker or subwoofer.
Reducing the amount of energy entering the floor can help the listener hear more of the loudspeaker itself and less of the surrounding structure.
Reducing Reflections into the Cabinet
Mechanical energy can also reflect from a hard floor and travel back towards the loudspeaker cabinet.
IsoAcoustics identifies these returning vibrations as a source of bass smear and reduced spatial clarity.

The scale of the change will depend on the speakers, floor construction, room, supporting surface and existing feet.
Directional Isolation
The GAIA isolators are directional rather than designed to behave identically in every direction.
Their internal construction is aligned with the front-to-back movement of the speaker drivers while resisting unnecessary sideways movement and oscillation.
Correct orientation is therefore essential if the feet are to operate as IsoAcoustics intended.
Position the Logos Towards the Listener
For normal loudspeaker installation, align every GAIA with the IsoAcoustics logo facing forwards towards the listening position.
The feet may alternatively be rotated through 180 degrees with the logos facing directly backwards. Do not position the logos sideways beneath a conventional front-facing loudspeaker.
Speakers with Side-Firing Bass Drivers
IsoAcoustics recommends retaining the normal front-facing orientation even when the loudspeaker includes a side-firing bass driver.
The GAIA logos should therefore remain aligned with the listening position rather than being turned towards the side-mounted woofer.
This keeps the isolators aligned with the overall motive forces of the complete loudspeaker system.
Threaded Connection to the Speaker
GAIA feet screw into the threaded inserts used by the speaker’s original spikes or feet.
This creates a strong mechanical connection between the cabinet and the upper section of the isolator, allowing the internal isolation system to manage the speaker’s energy.
The threaded stud should enter the speaker by at least four complete turns before the locking hardware is tightened.
Confirm the Thread Size Before Installation
Do not force a thread adaptor into the loudspeaker or subwoofer.
An incorrect diameter or pitch can damage the cabinet’s threaded insert. Check the manufacturer’s manual, existing spike or IsoAcoustics Product Selection Wizard before installation.
Included GAIA III Threads
GAIA III is supplied with M6-1.0, M8-1.25 and ¼”-20 thread adaptors.
These sizes cover many compact and medium-sized floorstanding speakers, but compatibility must still be confirmed for the particular model.
Included GAIA II Threads
GAIA II is also supplied with M6-1.0, M8-1.25 and ¼”-20 thread adaptors.
The difference between GAIA II and GAIA III is their physical size and supported speaker weight rather than the standard thread selection.
Included GAIA I Threads
GAIA I is supplied with M8-1.25, M12-1.25 and ¼”-20 adaptors.
The larger M12 option is commonly found on heavier loudspeakers and subwoofers that fall within the GAIA I weight range.
Alternative Thread Adaptors
IsoAcoustics offers a broad selection of alternative thread adaptors through its distributors.
This allows GAIA feet to be installed on many speakers whose original threads do not match the three adaptors supplied with the selected model.
Confirm the required alternative thread when ordering rather than attempting to modify one of the supplied adaptors.
Speakers Without Threaded Inserts
IsoAcoustics does not recommend GAIA feet for speakers that do not already provide suitable threaded inserts.
Adding threaded inserts to a cabinet creates a risk of permanent damage and may invalidate the loudspeaker warranty.
For a speaker without suitable threads, consider a compatible Aperta stand, OREA isolators or another non-threaded solution.
Selecting the Correct Weight Range
The GAIA model should be selected according to the total net weight of one speaker or subwoofer.
The published limits are based on the performance curve of the isolation system rather than simply the amount of weight the metal housing can physically carry.
Isolation remains effective up to the stated limit but declines rapidly when the set is overloaded.
Move Up a Size Near the Limit
IsoAcoustics recommends choosing the next larger GAIA model when the speaker is within approximately 10% of the stated maximum capacity.
Do not deliberately exceed the published weight limit.
GAIA III Weight Range
A set of four GAIA III feet supports one compatible speaker or subwoofer weighing up to 32kg.
If the cabinet approaches this limit, GAIA II may provide the stronger performance margin.
GAIA II Weight Range
A set of four GAIA II feet supports one compatible speaker or subwoofer weighing up to 54kg.
A speaker weighing close to 54kg should be considered for GAIA I rather than deliberately loading GAIA II to or beyond its performance limit.
GAIA I Weight Range
A set of four GAIA I feet supports one compatible speaker or subwoofer weighing up to 100kg.
Heavier loudspeakers require an appropriately selected model from the IsoAcoustics GAIA-TITAN range rather than additional GAIA I feet improvised beneath the cabinet.
Installation on Hard Floors
GAIA feet can be used on wood, laminate, tile, stone, concrete and other suitable hard floors.
Isolation can remain beneficial on concrete because vibrational energy can reflect from the hard surface and travel efficiently through the structure.
The floor must be clean, stable and level before the speaker is positioned.
Strong Grip on Smooth Surfaces
The lower isolator can adhere firmly to a smooth supporting surface once the loudspeaker’s weight is applied.
This helps resist unwanted movement during use but also means that the speaker should be lifted or tilted rather than dragged across the floor.
Dragging a loaded GAIA can damage the isolator, floor or loudspeaker.
Lift and Place the Speaker
Move the speaker into its final position before allowing the full cabinet weight to settle onto the GAIA feet.
For later repositioning on a hard floor, IsoAcoustics recommends carefully tilting the speaker and placing a cloth beneath the feet before sliding it.
Installation on Carpet
GAIA feet can be used directly on thin carpet where they remain stable and suitably supported.
For thicker carpet or carpet with substantial underlay, optional GAIA Carpet Disks provide a firmer foundation beneath each isolator.
The carpet disks use stainless-steel spikes to connect through the carpet and help stabilise the speaker.
Optional GAIA Carpet Disks
Carpet disks are sold separately in model-specific sets of four.
The correct disk size must be selected for GAIA I, GAIA II or GAIA III.
They should be installed only after the GAIA feet have been fitted and the speaker has been moved into its final position.
Remove Carpet Disks Before Moving the Speaker
Do not attempt to drag the speaker while the carpet spikes are engaged.
Tilt the cabinet carefully, remove the disks from each side and use appropriate furniture sliders before repositioning the speaker.
Using GAIA Beneath Speaker Stands
GAIA feet can be fitted beneath a speaker stand when the loudspeaker is mechanically fastened to that stand and the two behave as one structure.
The total supported weight must include the loudspeaker and stand together.
The stand must also provide compatible threaded inserts for the selected GAIA adaptors.
Speakers Resting Freely on Stands
Where a standmount loudspeaker simply rests on top of its floor stand, IsoAcoustics recommends placing isolation between the speaker and stand rather than only beneath the stand.
OREA isolators or a correctly sized Aperta stand may therefore be more appropriate.
The complete arrangement must remain stable and safe.
Using GAIA with Subwoofers
GAIA feet can be fitted to compatible subwoofers with suitable threaded foot mounts.
The correct model is selected using the subwoofer’s total net weight, and the feet should retain their normal forward-facing alignment.
Reducing structure-borne vibration can help improve bass definition and reduce floor resonance, particularly on suspended floors.
Installation Procedure
- Confirm the weight of one speaker or subwoofer
- Select the appropriate GAIA model
- Identify the correct thread diameter and pitch
- Remove the original spikes or threaded feet
- Fit the selected adaptor into each GAIA
- Tighten the adaptor using the supplied installation tool
- Fit the locking hardware
- Thread each adaptor at least four complete turns into the speaker

Use Assistance with Heavy Speakers
GAIA I may be used beneath a cabinet weighing up to 100kg.
Do not attempt to tilt, lift or install feet beneath a large loudspeaker alone. Follow the speaker manufacturer’s handling guidance and use suitable lifting assistance.
Levelling and Speaker Angle
The threaded installation and locking hardware allow limited adjustment during setup so the speaker can be stabilised on an uneven floor.
Any adjustment must retain sufficient thread engagement and a secure connection to the cabinet.
After installation, check that the speaker is upright, stable and evenly supported by all four feet.
Recheck Speaker Positioning
Replacing factory spikes changes the cabinet’s mechanical connection with the floor and may alter its installed height slightly.
After fitting GAIA feet, recheck the distance from nearby walls, toe-in angle and alignment with the listening position.
Small positioning adjustments can have a significant effect on bass balance and stereo imaging.
Original GAIA or GAIA Neo?
