Rega Saturn-R Cd Player + Dac - Audio T Recommends

The Saturn R is essentially a combination of two products. Firstly you have a superb CD player with a Rega developed high quality transport and secondly a sublime Digital to Analogue converter that will decode up to 24bit/192khz resolution audio via all inputs including USB. Both halves are fully controllable using the supplied Solaris remote control.

Connectivity is taken care of with two coaxial and  two optical inputs along with a fully asynchronous USB input which has galvanic isolation to remove potential noise from the attached computer being transferred to the DAC. A digital output is available from both the CD transport and the DAC sections to maximise the integration possibilities with existing equipment.

To maximise the performance of the USB input with a Windows based PC/Laptop it is recommended to download the USB driver below as this will ensure full ASIO operation. This reduces the possibility of "interference" from Windows drivers - For a complete explanation check out Wikipedia Here.

The player has power supply improvements applied that are as a direct result of developing the Isis Reference Cd player and the DAC section uses a pair of Wolfsen Dac's tied to the extremely well proven Rega audio stages.

The Saturn R is a substantial improvement over the Apollo R, styled to match the Elicit R amplifier and can lend its' considerable talents to all of your current equipment fitted with a "Digital Output". This means existing DVD players, TV set top boxes, DAB radios and even games consoles will benefit from its ability to resolve greater detail whilst maintaining a smooth even handed and musical presentation giving your entire system a new lease of life.
