The Naim FraimLite Medium-Height Level adds one direct veneered support surface to a FraimLite or suitably configured mixed Fraim rack. Its medium uprights create 206mm of nominal equipment space beneath the new platform, providing useful room for taller components, ventilation and rear connections.
This listing supplies one expansion level, not the complete rack shown in some photographs. A FraimLite Base or compatible existing stack is required. The module includes its shaped platform, three medium uprights and the relevant cup-and-cone and assembly hardware.
FraimLite supports equipment directly on the veneered composite shelf and does not include the ball-supported glass used by full Fraim. Audio T currently lists six combinations based on Black, Cherry or Natural Ash platforms with natural aluminium or black anodised uprights.
Naim FraimLite Medium-Height Level
FraimLite is Naim's simplified modular equipment-support system. Each level connects to the structure beneath through three minimal-contact cup-and-cone interfaces, while the component rests directly on the rigid veneered platform.
The medium-height version provides 206mm of available vertical space and adds 225mm to the rack. It sits between the 131mm standard and 280mm tall FraimLite options, balancing generous clearance with a manageable total stack height.

One Expansion Level, Not a Complete Rack
Product images may show a base and several FraimLite levels to illustrate a finished system. This product supplies one medium-height level. It does not include a base, further levels, floor spikes, floor protectors, glass shelf or hi-fi equipment.
Every independent FraimLite stack normally begins with one FraimLite Base. The medium level is fitted above the base or another compatible level according to the planned component order and the clearance required at each position.
The Uprights Set the Space Below
The three medium uprights connect the new platform to the structure beneath. They therefore create the 206mm space for the component immediately below the new platform. The new veneered surface supports another component above.
If a further level is added above this shelf, the upright height of that next level determines the overhead clearance for the component resting here.
206mm Available Height
Naim publishes 206mm as the available height for a medium FraimLite level. The overall level height is 225mm. The first figure describes nominal usable equipment space; the second describes how much the module adds to the assembled rack.
Measure the component at its highest point and retain enough free space for ventilation. Feet, top-mounted controls, aerials, rear plugs and cable bends may require more room than the front-panel dimensions suggest. The equipment manufacturer's instructions determine the minimum safe clearance.
If 206mm is unnecessary, the 131mm standard level keeps the rack more compact. If it is insufficient, the tall version provides 280mm but carries a stricter two-level configuration limit.
Direct Veneered Equipment Support
Equipment sits directly on the shaped 19mm double-veneered composite shelf. The published support area is 452 x 340mm within the rack's 643 x 442mm overall footprint.
Check the position of the component's feet rather than relying only on chassis width and depth. Every foot must sit securely on the usable platform, with sufficient room for the case, connectors and ventilation openings.
FraimLite Does Not Use Glass
No glass sub-shelf, ball bearings, support sockets or locating pin are supplied. This is intentional. Full Fraim uses those additional components, while FraimLite supports the equipment directly on the veneered panel.
Cup-and-Cone Inter-Level Interface
Three extruded anodised aluminium uprights connect the medium level to the structure below. Custom cups, cones, clamping rings, studs and nuts create a rigid three-point interface between modules while minimising the contact area.
The tripod-style geometry avoids the rocking associated with four imperfectly matched contact points. Correct assembly is still essential, and the completed rack must stand on a level location capable of supporting its full loaded weight.
Six Current Finish Combinations
Audio T currently lists three platform finishes, each with natural aluminium or black anodised uprights:

The shelves use real wood veneer, so grain pattern and tone naturally vary. Cherry Tint appears within parts of the wider full Fraim range but is not a current option on this FraimLite medium-level listing.
Match Both Finish Elements
Select both the platform and upright finish. A Cherry shelf with natural aluminium uprights is a different version from Cherry with black uprights. Audio T can help identify an existing rack from clear photographs if its original specification is unknown.
Load Limits and Maximum Rack Size
Naim states a maximum safe load of 50kg on each FraimLite shelf, evenly distributed, and a maximum load of 90kg for one complete Fraim or FraimLite assembly. Both limits apply; adding another level does not increase the permitted total rack load.
The medium level itself weighs 4.1kg. Include the base, every added level and all equipment when checking that the floor and its underlying structure are suitable for the completed installation.
A rack using standard or medium uprights can have up to six levels above the base. Tall-upright configurations are limited to two levels. Ask Audio T to confirm mixed-height arrangements and the most stable distribution of heavy equipment.
Ventilation and Component Order
Medium spacing is useful for products that are too tall for the standard FraimLite level or benefit from additional air around the case. It does not replace the ventilation guidance supplied with the equipment, particularly for power amplifiers, integrated amplifiers and valve products.
Position heavy components low in the rack where practical. Power supplies and power amplifiers can generate magnetic fields, so spacing or a second rack stack may be preferable when they would otherwise sit close to sensitive source or pre-amplifier components.
Cable Clearance and Dressing
Check cable lengths and plug dimensions before finalising the component order. DIN plugs, Burndy collars, mains connectors and network leads need room behind the equipment, and none should be stretched or sharply bent to fit.
The extra vertical space can improve access, but it does not change the 442mm overall rack depth or 340mm support depth. Arrange cables so that they do not pull on the equipment, press against the uprights or block ventilation openings.
Mixing FraimLite and Full Fraim Levels
Naim permits FraimLite and reference Fraim levels to be combined as part of a gradual upgrade path. This medium FraimLite level retains direct veneered support even when installed within a mixed system; a full Fraim level brings its own ball-supported glass sub-shelf.
Mixing the two types does not convert every module to the same construction. Ask Audio T to confirm compatibility, the required hardware, visual alignment and assembly sequence before changing an existing rack.
Assembly and Care
Remove the equipment before adding, removing or rearranging a level. Follow Naim's assembly sequence so that each cup, cone, upright, stud, clamping ring and nut is fitted in the correct orientation. Protect the veneer and anodised surfaces throughout the work.
Dust the shelf and uprights with a clean, soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, excessive moisture and products that leave a slippery residue. Confirm that the rack remains level and stable after relocation or significant equipment changes.
