Rega has lifted the curtain on two major additions to its reference electronics line-up — the Mercury Reference Pre-Amplifier and the Solis Power Amplifier — and demonstration units are now arriving across Audio T stores nationwide.

These new separates represent Rega’s most ambitious engineering to date, bringing four decades of design experience into a pairing built for customers who want the best possible performance from their system.

Mercury Reference Pre-Amplifier

The Mercury is Rega’s most complex electronic product yet, created with a single aim: deliver signal purity with absolutely no compromise. Its ultra-low noise floor, fully discrete symmetrical circuitry and high-performance DAC ensure that the quietest musical details are preserved, not buried.

A custom CNC-machined aluminium enclosure, a full-colour IPS display, a discrete headphone stage, and Rega’s Orbit remote all contribute to an incredibly refined user experience. The Mercury even employs parallel Wolfson DACs, galvanically isolated USB architecture, and the same ultra-low noise FET technology found in the Aura phono stage.

Internally, the design uses a generously rated toroidal transformer, extensive local power regulation, and the well-regarded Alps Blue Velvet volume control to maintain absolute signal integrity. Protection, slow-start circuitry, and a fully isolated control system keep the audio path clean and stable.

Solis Power Amplifier

Engineered as the Mercury’s ideal partner, the Solis is built to drive even the toughest loudspeakers with complete authority. Delivering 168W into 8O and 305W into 4O, it uses a fully symmetrical circuit with twelve high-current Sanken output transistors and a heavy-duty dual-transformer power supply with 40,000µF of smoothing capacitance per channel.

Every part of the Solis is designed with sonic performance in mind: fast-recovery diodes, Nichicon audio-grade capacitors, a regulated low-noise driver-stage supply, and comprehensive protection circuitry all contribute to its control and composure. The amp includes balanced and unbalanced inputs, 12V trigger control, and a user-selectable standby mode.

Designed to Work as a True System

Used together, Mercury and Solis form a fully discrete, symmetrical platform from digital input to speaker output. Rega has intentionally designed them as a matching pair, with circuit topologies and engineering philosophies that complement one another. The result is a system capable of outstanding transparency, scale, and control.

Experience Them in Store

Demonstration stock of both the Mercury and Solis is arriving in Audio T stores now, with further units landing over the coming weeks. Customers interested in hearing what this new reference range can do are encouraged to contact their local store to arrange a listening session.
