Jake Morris – Store Manager: Previously of Audio T Portsmouth fame, Jake joined the Brighton store in 2025. He has had a lifelong connection with music, from listening to an eclectic mix with his dad and picking up his first guitar as a pre-teen, to performing with friends around the UK.

Jake also works as a session bassist, composer and music producer, and enjoys long walks on the beach. Rather than sticking to one musical genre, some of his favourite artists include Idles, Architects, Miles Davis, Art Pepper, Sigrid, Nova Twins, Jon Hopkins and Guitarricadelafuente.

Jake is currently building up a larger record collection, as he feels physical media brings a real sense of connection and passion to music listening. His current system is based around a Naim Uniti and PMC speakers.

Louis Venni – Sales Consultant: Having played drums since his pre-teens, Louis has a longstanding love of music. He has a strong passion for hi-fi, with a particular interest in the design and engineering of equipment from the 1970s through to the early 2000s.

Louis enjoys repairing and restoring vintage hi-fi, and his personal collection of speakers has grown enough to fill a small shop, with 1990s Mission, Wharfedale and REL equipment making up much of it. His enthusiasm also extends to retro DJ equipment, especially Vestax mixers and decks from the 1990s and 2000s.

Louis’ musical tastes are equally varied, ranging from experimental electronic music and techno to nu-metal and jazz. He has a particular obsession with Tool, alongside favourites such as Aphex Twin, Death Grips, Machine Girl, Alpha Mist and Yussef Dayes.

His current system is centred around Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 and 9.4 speakers in a 7.1-channel AV setup with separate preamplifier and power amplification.

Martin Hardy – Sales Consultant: Martin has had a lifelong interest in music and hi-fi, having worked for Tape Shop and Southern Hi-Fi in Brighton and Hove during the 1980s.

As a drummer, Martin has played in numerous rock and metal bands over the past 30 years. He still collaborates with other musicians, recording in his home studio, and remains a regular gig-goer.

Martin listens to music on vinyl and CD and was an early adopter of streaming. He believes excellent results are possible with any of these sources, and enjoys a varied mix of musical styles on a system featuring components from Systemdek, Roksan, Marantz, Arcam, Audiolab and Monitor Audio.

Kevin Simmonds – Part-Time Sales Consultant: Kevin has spent most of his working life in the retail and service industries. His career began at Comet during the halcyon days of Hi-Fi, complete with its famous “wall of silver”.

A long-standing Audio T customer, Kevin has developed his own system considerably over the past 40 years, culminating in the Naim active system he enjoys today.

Since joining the Brighton team, Kevin has enjoyed discovering new music with his colleagues, expanding his knowledge and keeping up with the latest developments in audio technology.
