Big up Audio-t Brighton.
Thanks to Julian, John & Paul
I was contemplating upgrading my LP12 with a Lingo 4 and some Tiger Paw products.
However, Julian suggested that for the potential cost outlay being considered, the Linn Radikal ought to be on my list.
So, with the assistance and experties of turntablist John, I was allowed the opportunity to home audition Lingo 4, then Radikal followed by Klimax Radikal. Excellent service from John as this entailed repeated returns to the shop for him to dismantle and reinstall/set up my LP12 for each demo.
This was a priceless service, as John and team patiently allowed me to listen to the different options on my own LP12 at home and in my system.
Any problems or queries, the team are always on the end of the phone to help or just a chat about good music. Special mention to Paul for his help when I rang with an embarrassing question re the Klimax Radikal PSU, "Errr, How do you switch it on?"
Anyway, having listened to the Lingo 4, then Akurate Radikal, I read on some forums that many audiophiles were claiming that the Klimax Radikal sounded even better than the Akurate. So with John's support I did some lengthy A/B comparisons with both PSU's at home and found that I agreed with the claims.
Strange, as I an not using the Linn Phono stage, just the PSU and DC motor.
The above then lead me to consider to push the boat out and try the Keel as well. Suffice to say that I have now upgraded my LP12 with Klimax Radikal and Keel and an buying a shed load of new records.
Cheers guys
