The flagship Klimax LP12 consists of the following:
Linn Sondek LP12 - Basic turntable mechanics
Linn Keel - an integrated sub-chassis, armboard and
tonearm collar, machined from a solid piece of aluminium to provide
extremely rigid support to the tonearm and platter. Eliminating screws,
fixings and joins between each component removes virtually all
vibration, resulting in more accurate music reproduction.
Linn Radikal 2 - Linn’s highest performance motor control
and power supply available for the Sondek LP12. Radikal also powers the
Urika's internal phono stage for LP12, where fitted. Radikal brings
together several breakthrough technologies that enable a completely new
and innovative approach to motor control in the LP12 including an FPGA managed motor control unit (MCU),
and the latest, precision-engineered
motor technology – working in unison to
produce ultra-smooth rotation, and the lowest drift measurements ever for the LP12. Radikal’s speed management system
auto-calibrates the motor every time the Sondek LP12 is powered on,
ensuring perfect timing every time you use it.
Linn Urika/Urika II
Analogue – Thanks to its location within the Sondek LP12 plinth itself, cable length (and therefore signal loss and noise) is at an absolute minimum. A dual mono design banishes any potential crosstalk.
Digital – A breakthrough in phono stage design, Urika II uses our cutting-edge digital signal processing technology to implement the RIAA curve in the digital domain. This results in even lower distortion, lower noise and more music.
Linn Ekos SE - Linn’s flagship tonearm. Featuring a
titanium arm tube and ultra-low friction bearings, it’s designed to
extract the maximum information from your vinyl collection. Ultra-low
friction bearings and temperature-compensated precision-springs ensure
that the exceptional performance of the Ekos SE tonearm is maintained
regardless of whether you are listening to your first track of the day
or have been spinning records for hours.
Linn Ekstatik - This new flagship cartridge sets a new bar for arm/cartridge
synergy; its unique construction forges a harmonious synergy
with Ekos SE; wicking away more unwanted resonances along the
arm, and out through the sub-chassis.The result is an agile, responsive cartridge.
If you want the ultimate Klimax LP12 then you have the option of
powering your Klimax LP12 with two Radikal machined/solid power
supplies. One then powers the DC motor whilst the other powers the Urika
internal phono stage.
