PMC Twenty5 26i Speakers
The PMC Twenty5 series are the culmination of quarter of a century of research and developement. The Twenty5 26i is the ultimate floor standing model and the largest 3 way model in the range.
Featuring a third driver dedicated to the all-important mid frequencies, where the critical detail is to be found in vocal recordings this three-way design ensures that each important frequency range has its own dedicated driver, so that the speaker can fill even the largest spaces with absolute transparency and clarity.
PMC traditionally use an advanced transmission line design to gain bass depth and speed from their cabinets. This has been tweaked by drawing on Formula 1 aerodynamic research to develop the "Laminair" vent. This developement really yields big improvements to bass clarity and the overall transparency of the speaker design.
Other changes over and above the Twenty series include improved drivers that allow the mid/bass unit to be up to 80% more powerful and slightly adjusted cabinet dimensions/bracing to remove unwanted resonance. The cabinet is then supported by new stainless steel spikes that are adjustable from the top for ease of use. A great deal of time and effort has gone into the crossover design and the materials used to construct it to ensure nothing detracts from the music!
