Ortofon Quintet Red Cartridge
The Quintet Red is quite possibly the perfect introduction to the sound of Moving Coil cartridges. It features an elliptical stylus that is cut and polished to Ortofon's exacting specifications ensuring a very high price to performance ratio.
The "Red" is the entry level cartridge in this series and offers a great all round performance offering a slightly warmer sound but still open and detailed.
The modern body design constructed of a special ABS thermoplastic with straight lines and angles also allows for a far easier job when it comes to fitting the cartridge in the headshell. It is possible to align the body by eye, with the alignment protractor with greater accuracy given its shape. The internal aluminium frame of the Quintet series has threaded holes for mounting and is supplied with two lengths of screws to suit all headshells.
